Other awesome video, like always, this time was difficult to me understand the first part of conversation, this way of repeating training the ears very well. What is difficult is know when we liking "what" with "what". Anyway, Is it possible for you make a video about pronunciation of words with "x" in the middle like: anxiety, externalize, relaxation, detoxifier, noxious and how I pronounce the word "within" the stress is in the first syllable or in the second syllable? Thanks you so much for you helping us in the learning from American English!

Thank you for all the videos! I've got a question about the note or intonation used when you want to say something with irony! Does it depend on the language we use or it's something beyond the language like laughter and all roads lead to Rome? The expression made me think of this question is "nice try". Thanks again!

Rachel's English Why do we have to go through such a pain to learn a language, its unfortunate that non-english speakers are cursed and have to put a lifelong effort on this. You are lucky Rachel you don't have to learn all this. As for me i am giving up learning english, can't deal with this anymore.

again,,my question is...about the d sound in the word to in the combination of,,trying to.,,is it a flap t ? cos I do not hear a flap t very softly,,like the spanish r.. I hear you to sound...d ....tryin duh...you examples sounds like a d,,a real d..
@rachelsenglish
@rachelsenglish 9 жыл бұрын
William Rodriguez I don't quite understand your question. But yes, the Flap T in American English sounds like the D between vowels, which also sounds like the Spanish R. All the same sound. In the phrase 'trying to', the T in TO can be a Flap T or a True T.
@willibass2
@willibass2 9 жыл бұрын
Rachel's English thanks and excuse me for bothering you many times... I am a teacher too... your example sounds trying "duh"... it doesn't sound trying (spanish "r") + uh .....

People .. students.. Most Americans do not say all of these improper “ yeah “ and “ o Kay” so repeatedly as the two people in this video .. You’ll find these word, pronunciation’s and accents to be found in more northern and midwestern states. Again this is slang and not proper English pronunciations as you find in a dictionary .
