Күн бұрынThis is an original Ampico Roll that was released in June, 1926. Arranged and played by Rachmaninoff.
This is the first video of this M&H RBB Ampico Grand Piano that has the "Touchrail" www.pitchlock.com This add-on device for any grand piano, has made an appreciable difference in how the this Ampico responds to the coding on the roll. It has improved the dynamic response, the articulation, the expression, and the repetition of an already marvelous Ampico. All the videos of this M&H RBB Ampico from this point on will have these improved dimensions thanks to the Touchrail. It has also enhanced the LX playback system.

I really prefer sorrow instead of joy because it shows so much feeling in its notes but joy is very enjoyable as well

Magnifique, si j'ai un jour l'occasion et le niveau pour jouer ce genre de morceau, je le choisirai sans hésitation! Moi qui m'attachais tant à apprendre le piano pour jouer chopin, je crois que je vais me laisser aller pour rachmaninoff dans le futur.

Is the loud pedal (sustain) not working? It seems some of those runs should have the pedal down.

A pianist does not need to use the sustain pedal when he/she plays. Sometimes the piece may call for it, but the pianist is truly free to deviate from the piece's orders to be expressive. Rachmaninoff was a very expressive performer, and it was not uncommon for him to deviate from his own pieces' instructions.
