Rachmaninoff was a genius! Let’s analyse the 18th of his Paganini Variations - surprise in the end!! (Time travel!)

V.18 is an absolutely sublime composition. Rachmaninoff wrote so many fantastic pieces.

Love this song. ❤ They included it in the movie "Somewhere in Time". That's a beautiful love story through time.

I dont know who's the bigger genius - Paganini for creating the inversion? or you for being able to explain it? I'm impressed by both.
@michaelgrantham1871
I love both composers, though Paganini's deal with the devil makes him a bit more alluring.

I had no idea. It’s one of my favorite songs and I love the original as well. Who knew?

Huh, didn’t realise “Tale as long as time” is just a Rach piece
@michroz
I once tried to compose my masterpiece by doing a similar thing inverting one really nice piece of modern music... But I got Bach instead...

I can see the satisfaction in your smile.

And then Eric Carmen wrote "Never Gonna Fall In Love" from Rachmaninoff.....
