It's probably the mic placement and sound mastering, it's a common thing with classical comedies. Everything will be pointing to the stage so not much will get captured from the audience.

C# minor. Rachmaninov considered it to be a very minor work indeed, in comparison with its popularity, and sometimes refused to perform it. Audiences would clamor for it, and a stage manager would come out and close the keyboard and lid. I tend to agree with the composer, as who am I to argue with him?
