British racings golden era. Some truly magic moments. Things aren't the same now. There were some amazing partnerships, the best. Not sure we'll ever see a horse win the derby, from start to finish, again. He did it, twice! Phenomenal!

Steve was indeed incredible and revolutionized UK horse racing before he arrived nobody rode with just the ball of their foot in the irons which gave him a low aerodynamic attack and of course he was simply superb riding from the front always got the fractions just right

My all-time sporting hero, met Steve and Henry many times always fantastic times I spent with them either at Warren place or at the race courses . The bookies used to call me the Cecil/Cauthen bookie bashers. Best ever era of horse racing the 80s and Early 90s Got many books about Steve and Henry all signed by the legends themselves. Always happy days. 1987 my fav year Loved Reference point Diminuendo Indian skimmer Old Vic Belmez Oh so many to mention

@@jaycfc6955 I was at reffys derby as well as a few others but was tipping him at 8/1 ante post, saw commander in chief win for Henry. Very sad when Steve retired. Great days great Trainers , Jockeys and horses. My first Derby was sharastani v dancing brave. You don't really get that now. Old Vic I saw run quite alot and Indian skimmer too another tragedy sheikh Mohammed removing all his horses because of Nathalie Cecil. But look at sonic lady and warning iconic horses . I did like rakaposhi king though. I liked a lot of Howard de Walden's horses. Great memories

I knew only one horse had been second in all three legs of the triple crown, but Thought it was Sham (Behind Secretariat) and would have gone all or nothing on a quiz show ! So it was Alydar Im not sure how I didnt know as I was a Cauthen nut .. Then again I would only have been a small lad and who remembers the second apart from the owner .. Great stuff. I love these Rishi and Steve interviews. They're both so enthusiastic and respectful .. They clearly love the game and it shows in their hanging off every word their interviewees say Great viewing.. Great memories.. How nice of Steve to mention Robert Street who rode a few winners on second strings, but was more importantly a vital and indispensable cog in the Hills machine..
