Check the time stamp on the blue dot before they started circling. That will roughly tell you how long they took. My guess is that they didnt see you in the yard waiting for them, so they went joyriding. Great info again. I love Skyleader.

Birds have a mind of their own sometimes and like to play around instead of coming home. I don’t blame you family comes first and I definitely would be there for my son. You made a wise choice.

The reason they went routing when they got back to the loft was because 55 miles is nothing for them to fly.. When they got back, they were just getting started and wanted more flying time, so they that's what they did. They went for some more exercise. When you loft fly them they are probably flying pretty much the same distance when they go routing.. When the training distance goes up they will drop down and into the loft much quicker, or if you happen to be there to call them in with their feeding time whistle..

They probably had an headwind this time and used the mountain as a shield, going around it as they tend to fly lower against the wind. Just a thought. Cool device though.

Check the time stamps on the dots once they got back to the loft. Once they get inside the loft the GPS readings are unpredictable and not accurate because of poor visibility to the GPS satellites. I’ve seen it jump a half mile away in a couple seconds so now I just ignore the tracks near the loft.

Very good content. Yeah, that’s the thing about pigeons, sometimes they’ll come straight home, but sometimes they’ll play and mess around and waste alot of time. Just hope they don’t mess around on race days for good results. But good content buddy, and yeah. I wouldn’t miss my son’s football games either if my son was in football. Glad to see you up and out going 👍

Ha! Not sure where you're going with that. Yes, the dots are the birds. The straight line is a glitch with that particular band. Note that the start and finish point were recorded as my loft which is bogus. I don't connect the battery to the ring until a few minutes prior to release at the release site. It's weird. Compare the data with my previous 40 mile toss. There is the proper start (striped dot) and end (checkered dot). Thanks for watching!

You can start to toss them once you see they are routing (flying out of sight to explore nearby regions) when they loft fly. Good luck!!
