Just a tip. Get a couple of saw horses and a sheet of plywood for a working surface, save your back and knees.

Awesome fun hobby. Only 1 thing u missing... where u stable the floor grates to the wooden bars that supports up the grated gate, u need an extra 1/4 inch thick x 2 inch wide to nail over that so u can scape. If not, the poop stuck in the support wooden bars n grated floor n u cant clean it out. Cover to top of the gated medal wire floor n where support wood beams are. I dont think u understand what im talking bout, cuz i currently baked n tipsy 😂😅

Its awesome looks great pigeon case. You should add top roof light cut out roof just use sunlight energy that saves your $$$.

Winter time pigeons need light inorder to breed, if they dont have a light bulb on, they’ll not lay eggs when u want them to.

The doors with the wooden sticks like cool but functionally is the same as if you had just made doors with the metal wire that you had, or even chicken wire if you want to go cheaper on some parts of the build Even if everything is not straight and 90° but I love it more that the kids helped, and that makes it more valuable than anything else

Thank you for sharing. It would have been beneficial and cheap, to add sheets of plastic to the sides and back of the breeding cages, stapled to the wood, that way the pigeon manure would not stick to the walls of your pigeon loft.
@cubaniton749 ай бұрын
For the shelves next time, explore the idea of using pvc pipe for the shelf frame, and attaching the mesh to the pvc frame using zip-ties, and making the shelves removable, that way you can remove them whenever and pressure wash them and beuse it's pvc and not wood, it will never rot or grow too much bacteria or smell. To support the pvc shelf inside the cage frame, you can use screws sticking out about one inch, to allow the pvc shelf to rest on those screws.
@cubaniton749 ай бұрын
You can also use an aluminum angle iron in L shape, and cut 2 inch sections of it and screw it to the cage frame inside, to support the removable shelves. The idea is to either use screws, or some sort of metal, that way it will not absorb moisture and will be rigid, and capable of holding the weight of the shelves, pigeons, feeder and waterer.

Need to be careful with the baby bird's when they get off the bowls and try to walk around and there feet goes through the netting they might snap a leg. The netting is a little too big for the baby's when they start getting out of the nest.
