Morgan, I'm quite sure nobody on your team feels like you let them down, in fact quite the opposite, your crash was one of those things that just happens when you ride dirt bikes, thanks for the videos as they gave me a much better understanding of what goes in to racing the Baja 1000.

Watched the crash on slow-motion a few times and this looks almost exactly like what happens after my forks get heat soaked. The first time it happened I was in shock just the same as you. The second time it clicked and I gave the bike a run down. Forks were full of air and I was unintentionally putting more than usual weight up front to get them to feel more normal or balanced. Now when it happens I recognize it right away and bleed the forks and/or take the rear rebound down a half or quarter turn which doesn’t help any bit with speed in the whoops but does give a bit of more security next time they heat soak. Hope you have a speedy recovery! See ya next spring for the clean up!

Hey, Brett here. Early OCT I asked to borrow bolt cutters and you were prepping for the race as I walked in. Vid was great until the wreck - man I feel your pain and wish you the speediest of recoveries. Congrats on the race overall and great job to those who helped out. I have a new perspective on the Baja 1000. I’ll stop by the shop if we can make it out next summer. Rest up!

That was the best video ever, other than the crash, but wow man you really put together a show brother. I know that sound well (trying to catch your breath after a major crash) unfortunately - I went down and broke my back, collapsed lung, 6 broken ribs during a desert race. Super glad you're okay and you will get revenge soon!!! Thanks Morgan for the excellent job you do...heal up good. EDIT: played the crash in slow motion and noticed you got your body weight forward prior to the crash, not sure if that played into how the bike got spring in the rear and then it endoed after you hit a dip... Also noticed the bike flipped right over the top of you, damn that's a super close call, that bike could have taken you out.

Right on Morgan!! You had a great ride up to your crash. I'm glad you are OK. I know about both your injuries. The hamstring takes a while to heal. BTW, Living in CO and riding the rocks regularly put you in a great position for passing. I could tell you were going at pro speed through them. I'm so happy to see your channel grow and look forward to meeting you someday during my travels across the country.

Wow! Even with the racing lights riding the course at night is very challenging. If it were possible i would want more lights. You did a great job keeping the bike right side up and moving. A few times i thought you were going to crash but you held onto the bike. The race ending crash was a painful bummer but regardless you gave it a solid effort. Thanks for making the video. I enjoyed watching the action.

Two years in a row.. I deflected off a rock while riding on a bed of fixed rocks and both times I took out the same knee. Well.. the tibial plateau which is buried inside your knee. Fractured all sorts of ways with spiral break to boot. Somehow.. someway.. even though the fracture bisected my ACL each time it stayed intact and the bone didn’t displace. Messed up the meniscus the second time around though. The first one was at a hare scramble so there were plenty of people. The second I was on a sanctioned ride only there was no mobile service. Just like two of our own events this one has ham radio operators stationed at strategic locations. Someone runs to a radio station and they relay the message to other stations till it eventually gets back to base. Then they send help. I rode two up out of that situation. Got some pain meds on the spot for that ride lol. Heal up soon sir. I almost couldn’t listen to the groans. Scary shit

WOW... Just binged all the episodes. Just crazy. I was like, "I recognize that section from the pre-run." It'd be interesting to see that exact spot on your pre-runs. I would say, you most certainly did NOT let anyone down. Crashes happen, things break... it's all part of it. What an amazing support team to get you taken care of and the bike back moving. Super glad you were OK and that things will heal up.

I live and ride in north AZ, if you've ever ridden here you know it's all rocks all the time, we ride a lot of rocks. I ride Husky's that handle great but every once in a while, if all the conditions are right you will hit a rock that will want to pitch you over the bars like the old days. I've done a couple handstands in the last couple years just like what happened to you, only luckily I was able to hang on to it. Glad you're basically ok.

You are now officially on team Proginner. 😂 I was worried about booby traps myself not so much on my first section which was 785 to 945. But my section 1070 to 1187, all the San Felipe stuff. I was worried about them in this section because there’s a lot of people. luckily and surprisingly I didn’t see a single booby trap which was cool. Like I mentioned to you before, one of those rocks about took me out two weeks before while pre-running, exact same just boom and over the bars, never saw it hidden in the shade. And another one almost killed my teammate during last year‘s Baja 1000. I almost preferred the night as it made it easier to see those little bastards.

Baja is gnarly and on a bike x10. Thanks for sharing and nice GoPro footage. Glad you are doing well and anyone who has raced Baja, knows it can always be worse. I dig the moto side but after racing Baja for over 10 years (Truck) I keep debating on racing a bike. I actually caught some bikes in 18' in the Trophy Truck class and, dang is it sketchy at speed to not hit you guys. The pro's are normally safe on time but the slower bikes are crazy in my opinion knowing a 950hp truck is coming up on them fast! Great videos and keep them coming. Cheers!🏁🇲🇽

@@highlandcycles Ironman class is pretty legit. Although I have soloed the 1000 in a truck, I would say that doesn't really compare to a bike. Just before your crash it looked as if your body position was too far forward and the rear rebound looked to be too fast as well. When I look at 26:28 the bike kicked you forward too but becasue your body position was more neutral the front could dig in too much and you managed to save it.
