Sabotage who was mentioned in this song was a rapper Mauro Mateus dos Santos (São Paulo, April 3, 1973 - São Paulo, January 24, 2003), better known by his stage name Sabotage, was a rapper, singer, songwriter and actor Brazilian. Mauro, father of two, was born in the South Zone of São Paulo, where, after having been a burglar and a traffic manager, he found his way out in rap, getting into music and realizing his true gift. The origin of the nickname Sabotage was due to the fact that he was always managing to circumvent the laws with tremendous success, such as entering balls, parties and nightclubs without permissions, and leaving unscathed in countless confusions. Considered a legend in the South Zone, he inspired several rappers, such as Rhosi, unfortunately he was murdered in 2003 at the time there were many rumors surrounding his murder!! My favourite song from Racionais. Pure poetry, one of the best rap songs of all time.

Mano Brown is a genius when it comes to writing lyrics using the slangs from the hood with powerful and visceral messages. This particular song is a masterpiece and talks about his struggle with the fight for the black community and his fear of ending up like other famous people that were killed for the same fight. It starts with a riddle about tears and you get to see how sharp his skills are. Next he starts to complain about the state of this world and gets interrupted in an internal dialogue telling him to shake it off. The story goes on with him receiving a call from a friend telling him he heard another black man (he uses patrício as someone from the same homeland - pátria in portuguese) saying shit about him, accusing him of doing this for his own benefit and not for the cause. Later he references Pagliacci and his tears. After that, his mother, Mrs. Ana, tries to convince him to give up saying it is all an illusion and uses his real name: Wake up, Paulo, they don't care! Next he is alone in a hotel, in a raining night where he goes down a spiral thinking about all leaders that were killed. He then receives advice on how to handle the situation by enjoying his life and getting rid of those that cross him and he ends by saying he prefers the peaceful path.

Sou de 2000, eu nasci 10 anos após racionais estourar na década de 90 em SP e no Brasil inteiro, eu estudei para concurso durante 3 anos até conseguir passar e ao decorrer da minha jornada dos estudos eu tive que estudar muito sobre história do Brasil, pois era uma das matérias que o concurso abordava. Na escola eu nunca estudei tanto, mas no preparatório para o concurso sim e digo: A música dos racionais Vida Loka parte 1 é 2, negro drama, Jesus Chorou e outras são as que eu mais me identifico, eu já havia ouvido racionais antes, mas nunca fez tanto sentido para mim, eu escutar de novo depois de anos intensos de estudo. A rapaziada que viveu a música talvez saiba, mas quando você estuda afundo a história do seu país e escuta a música deles tudo faz sentido, não é apenas uma música, ela também é uma crítica e ataque ao sistema que continua forte até hoje no Brasil.

The first part, the one in acapela his reciting a poem about the weight of crying, then when the beat starts he starts telling a story, first he ( mano brown) tells how he is feeling bad, anxious that he had a bad night trying to sleep but having a lot of bad dreams, then he cellphone rings, its his friends, who tells him how he was going out last night and stopped to smoke a joint and a guy showed up and started talling shit about him (mano brown) out of envy...on the phone mano brown answers that people say whatever they want just to play tought and get other people's attention. But he gets reflective, because he always tried to remain true to his essense, even fight for his people's rights, even thou his own mother always told him to think more about himself, but he never could. But now he sees that although his attempts to be an exemple in the hood, it made a lot of people envy of him. And that makes him really sad, in the end he says thats normal in human kind, that we even betrayed jesus christ... Thats a really heavy and critical song, thay has the intention of making us reflect about our deepest feelings. The group name is Racionais MCs which means the Rational MCs. Theres a documentary about them on Netflix. You really should watch it.

And in the phrase "People I believe in, like and admire, who fought for justice and peace were shot: Malcom X, Ghandi, Lennon, Marvin Gaye, Che Guevara, 2Pac, Bob Marley and the evangelical Martin Luther King" that is, everyone who fought for an ideal, the whites killed, simply afraid of the blacks coming to power (but not advance, look how many Nigga are in power, be it US, BR, UK, FR), but on the other hand someone tells the character "famous as fuck tough, hey trout! make your world no life is short", tells him to enjoy spending money, having sex because one hour it will end. This song's a dialogue, but the alive version doesn't show that properly. Mano Brown receives a call from a buddy that starts to tell about how he was at a party and a guy started to talk shit about Brown, and how no one tried to make him stop or something. Brown listens to that and starts a think about the advices his mother gave, telling that it was worthless to fight for the rights of black people, because even the blacks don't care about that. He thinks about the guys that he admires the most, Malcom X, MLK, and how they fought for peace and got shot. The music's about Brown thinking about how his work and fight for the black people in Brazil is hard, and how he have to fight for people that don't give him the credits for staying where he was most needed, in the favelas, fighting for the consciousness of black people, instead of being where the money is, with the supermodels etc, and being sad about the conclusion that humankind is evil, and even Jesus cried.
