I spent the next 15 years after his passing, rebuilding myself, and ensuring my children were taken care of in every way as their and I wanted. I never dated..I remained celibate and focused. In the last year I have decided to date again but have been very practical and careful. I prayed for what I needed and wanted and never went seeking. And I got who I got. I have done all the things. And at this point in my life I am going to do what I want how I want. As I always have. And I don't care what other people think about it. I am not worried about what other people do and how they do it as long as it's not affecting me. Love is not love because some love is fucked up and toxic and wrong and not appropriate. That's why I said made sure to say "I" not we. I am not psychologically confused. I did all the things I was supposed to in order and am proud of who I am. Raised my sons in a nice Black neighborhood, made sure they were surround by positive Black women and young ladies. Made sure they were around other great Black men with Black families. Told them about our history and instilled in them the importance of legacy and continuing that legacy from day one. And they still told me they were at 17 and 15, that they believed in IR dating and likeed non Black girls TOO. I could only laugh. People are gonna do what's best for them and so the hell am I. Lol.
