Dudes. I was totally in the middle of forming my sense of self in 2005 when I became a raging Fall Out Boy fan, so thank you for indulging this communion with basically one of the inventors of my adolescence. This is the rad rad rad drummer Andy Hurley. Listen well upon his dudely drum wisdom.
And yo! FOB's new record "M A N I A" is out now: falloutboy.lnk.to/Mania

Filmed in Houston TX by the extremely rad TJ Martinez, who can be found at / thatskinnytjkid

My band is covering Sugar We're going down and we played it as our opening tune for the school talent show and now whenever I listen to that intro it I feel myself there on stage with all my band mates, so I'd say that's probably my favourite drumming moment. Cheers Dudes!

My favorite Andy Hurley moment was seeing them live at their ABAP release show in Chicago. I camped out with a buddy from 4AM the night before to get front row. During the show, we would look at Andy and start air drumming with him (being musicians we were matching his drumming and he could tell) he would give us this smile every time he saw us and you could tell he was thrilled that his playing was inspiring other musicians in the crowd! I'll never forget that because he didn't just look at us once. It happened a bunch that night. In fact it he recognized it so much that at the end of their set he looked at us and threw a drum stick directly in our direction. Andy is such a nice guy and a killer drummer!

I remember sitting in my basement watching MTV when i saw the Sugar we're going down video for the first time. The signature "cock it and pull it" stick trick got me so excited. Fall Out Boy is the band that got me into music, and im not over exaggerating when i say they're my favorite band. Fall Out Boy has gotten me into so many other bands, and I really would not be as big into music as I am, and probably wouldnt even have found out about your channel, if it wasnt for them. The first song i had ever heard from them was dance, dance on guitar hero warriors of rock, and man did i play the hell out of that song on drums. I played it everyday, and loved the the drum beat so much, that song got me to listen to their other music, and right away i was hooked. For that reason, im gonna have to say that dance, dance is my favorite Fall Out Boy drum moment, and even my favorite song, ever. Im suprised you didnt bring the song up! Its such a catchy tune, and really fits its name. As someone who has seen Fall Out Boy live twice, I can also say that when they play the song live, everyone knows what's up. The transition from the drum solo to the song is always insane too, and goes to show how awesome of a drummer andy truly is, dude.

Favorite memory: When i saw FOB in 2003 at Knights of Columbus (some place like that on Hallowe'en) where they played and sung TTTYG. The passion and engery was amazing. Mick and Pros means the world to me and watching and hearing um sing... holy fucking shit. Got some pictures and meet them afterwards. Also seen them in 2001 (maybe early 2002. Town next too me: Carbondale. I was 12. Now im 29) before they was going by FOB. Dude, they still have the same passion and engery nowdays. Humble never left um after everything that has happened. Haven't seen um in concert since 2005 (couldn't afford too, hopefully i can scrape up some money for Mania later on in the year). But, to watch FOB grow from little gigs (maybe 50 people) to UTCT (2005ish concert) was amazing and surreal. I never been more proud of um. Still proud and amazed! I'm rambling.. uh hi XD I'd love some Andy sticks :)

My favourite Andy drumming moment is all of "Tell That Mick...", my favourite song off my favourite album of all time. It has so much energy and sets up the tone of the album so well, and that ride/bell pattern in the second verse isn't extraordinarily difficult by any means but it just adds a different dynamic to the part. Not to mention the snare pattern in the first pre-chorus haunted me for so long when I first started learning to play.

My favorite Andy drumming moment would probably have to be all the chorus fills in 20 Dollar Nose Bleed. One day that song came on my shuffle and I was just like "damn, this song sounds fun, I want to learn it". That was the first time I sat down and actually played my set in years. I posted a cover of it, and here I am a few months later, taking this KZfaq thing seriously, all because of this guy.

Dude Andude Hurley along with the rest of FOB pretty much shaped my musical ears wile growing up. And while his drum parts in earlier records are phenomenal, most recent favorite Andy drum part will be the chorus of Young and Menace. That's just him going wild in different times and textures, and while it sounds like he just goes all out, its perfectly syncopated and calculated. Not to mention it shows us how flexible of a drummer he is in the throes of what is basically a pop song. Rad drumming, stuff of legend.

I don't think I could even begin to pick a favorite Andy Dudely moment. His ability to flex to meet the amazingly varied styles FOB puts out- from the punk energy on "Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued" to the more subdued stuff like "What A Catch, Donnie"... Dude! I love Andy and fob! they were the first band I really started to like when I was younger. I'm still pretty young, 15, but I remember listening to them all the time. I'd go out in the backyard and practice playing soccer against a wall while listening too them, but it was always more about listening to them rather than the soccer. I've always loved there older stuff, and there new stuff is good too, but it's not the same as there older stuff. My favorite song is probably dance dance. The drums in the beginning are so simple buts it still sounds great. The bass comes in and the song really takes off and makes you feel good. It's really a great song. Favourite Fall Out Boy drumming moment is either: The drumming in XO, not because it's extravagant or overly complex but, because it's tailored to the song so perfectly, switching tempos smoothly, it's bloody mouth watering or The drum beats from the chorus of Fame < Infamy, purely because they're soooooo satisfying and once again, it fits to the song amazingly. I'm a huge Fall Out Boy fan and have researched these exact sticks before, but I don't know if I would play with them if I got them, because I would break them too quick :D. Oh and ummm... Dude

I honestly can't pick a single song as my favorite Andy Hurley drum moment, they're all just so tight and tie the whole song into an instantly recognizable FOB song.
