Radagast Music - Litha (Summer Solstice)
Litha is a Celtic Pagan festival dedicated to celebrating the life-giving, and regenerative, healing powers of the sun.
The rituals performed at Litha would encourage fruitful farming, healthy cattle, and prosperity. For example, Celtic people lit large bonfires on hilltops to signify the sun burning brightly at its highest point, and also as a way to worship the Celtic sun God, Lugh.
The celebrations carried on all through the night with great feasts, music, and dancing until sunrise, and were a way of welcoming the longest day and the triumph of light over dark.

The solstice is a sacred turning point, it is said that this is when the sun "stands still". In the Northern Hemisphere, this is the longest day of the year with the most pronounced energy of the sun, which is at the peak of its power and the day is the longest. The summer solstice, which is also celebrated under the name Litha (Old Germanic word for summer). On this day, our ancestors lit bonfires. Since the summer solstice, the sun has been declining, so they believed that a fire lit on Midsummer Night helps the sun preserve and multiply its power. Bonfires were lit on top of the hills, as close to the sky as possible, then they sang and danced around the fire, jumped over or through it and walked on the embers. On Midsummer night, water is said to have miraculous powers - washing in it is said to bring health and beauty, and unmarried girls are said to even see their future husband in the reflection of the water, according to an old folk belief. Hi guys love this time of year, dancing around the fire and catching mayflies ... in Sweden I have celebrated Midsommar, when the sun set before midnight and rose around two in the morning ☺ will listen to this master piece when sun will shines in my windows, bless You 💓 my thanks, Adela
