Ordered one for myself. I love that the strong 4x30 layout on the NU was so close to the weak 5.5x65 layout on the original Rattler. Exactly the reaction I’m looking for on the fresh house shot. Have you tried other layouts or surfaces on the NU yet?

RJ shined it up for practice and can confirm that you can really speed up the reaction if you want to. He's working on a comparison video with more urethane, but it won't come out until after bowl expo

Those are some big angles for a urethane shape. Usually you want urethane so you can close your angles so this ball seems like a bit of a tweener.

If you look at the Purple and Nu Blue videos, RJ's angles are always open with Urethane because of his ball speed. You can only counter so much rotation.

Rob I'm a older 2-hander, higher rev, low-med speed with PAP 5 1/8 over 3/8 up. Struggle with controlling Breakpoint sometimes this ball looks great! How important is the layout? Our speed and tilt are very similar. Great Game by the way!

Thank you! One of the reasons I (RJ) love this ball is because of my ball speed. I can only counteract so much of my rotation before the ball naturally wants to hook. The Rattler NU is earlier than the Purple Hammer, so it bleeds off just that little bit of extra energy, making it more controllable. Layout is a LOT for two-handed bowlers. We are all basically Rev Dominant (even the speed dominant ones are a little rev dominant technically). Because almost all urethane balls are symmetrical, the ball will lose rotation and tilt at a set rate, one that we can't change too much. Therefore Layout is EXTREMELY important because it's the only way we have to get the ball to roll and go through the pins the right way. Hope that helps! @@LaneSideReviewswhat's your speed/rev? I'm a 1 hander who is slow and big hands. I have to follow 2 hander lines, and usually pin down.

Would this be good for a lower speed rev dominant player? I normally don't use reactive because its too hard off the spot and so i normally play the near the middle of the lane with urethane.

Yes, it would! RJ is a low-speed rev dominant player, and you can see how it worked for him.

Sorry to take so long. Dual angle, based on your pap, would be 90 x 4 x 30. 2LS would be 4 x 6 3/4 x 3 3/4.

with my pitch black, I need to slow my speed way down to get it to hook. Do you think I would be able to drill this similar and have a close reaction with my normal speed?

Absolutely. Bigger core differential, lower RG. It will start up much earlier.
