I'd recommend studio versions if you've never heard the song. People recommend live versions because they love the band, but studio versions are more suitable for new ears.
@DRK01146 жыл бұрын
agreed - this is 100% true. Go with the studio version in the future

It's tough to react to them, though, because I think their copyright is super intense.

Yes. There's no way he's not going to appreciate FNM! :) .... but where to start tho? Epic? Falling to Pieces? Midlife Crisis? I'm not into giving someone We Care A Lot for their first FNM- you get caught in the weeds explaining history of the band...!

badm0t0rf1nger i was thinking Ashes to Ashes to draw him in. Then maybe The Gentle Art of Making Enemies and Just A Man.
@badm0t0rf1nger6 жыл бұрын
Interesting that you're going with later material. I got the 2-disc version of Album of the Year wit the remixes, so I'll have to listen to the straight version of Ashes to Ashes to remind myself..... Ah yes, I like the vibe it's got, & it's soundly-crafted, but none of the band are having to *try* on it, if you know what I mean? The remixes are arguably more interesting. Gentle Art is undeniable imo, but is it the right thing to offer up as someone's first look at FNM? I'm still thinking something early from The Real Thing or Angeldust that has a groove & a dose of Patton's "fcuk you" going on, would be the best idea. Right, it's just given me goosebumps *again*.... I know it's 8mins, but I'm voting for The Real Thing :)
