Ceremony is a song by joy division. Lead singer Ian Curtis died before the song was officially released. That deep voice, with mic touching his lips, that was Ian Curtis' singing style. Thom was doing an Ian Curtis impression.

Thom has a habit of singing close to the microphone, in the first concerts he already did it (standing up or sitting at the piano). It is a mere coincidence! .. Curtis was more defined by the striking movements he made, almost convulsive, and at the same time his serious face and his deep voice... it was very personal no doubt, but Yorke too without copying.

I love how you can see how much these songs mean to them.I grew up on Joy Division and the Smiths. These guys look like they are as familiar with these songs as they are of their own.

I used to skip it but now it is my favourite out these and I'm a die hard the smiths and new order fan. The vocals are so sexyy on it, and the slight echo of the piano, just everything about it is amazing

I think that's Jonny's own LP from 70s-80s, as stated on King of Gear, and he still uses it nowadays They say Ed is the one who borrowed Marr's '57 LP for In Rainbows, which can't be seen here unfortunately

@@reisuton Yeah, TKOG is an amazing resource I should of checked. I think I got Noel of Oasis borrowing Marr's Les Paul in the early years, and keeping it mixed up with Jonny. That and the In Rainbows liner notes threw me off. Cheers.

I guess his name is Colin Cam. His bass line is spot on yet he’s not even represented. That’s just shitty. Bass is often such a thankless position in the band. We are the offensive linemen of the band. the only time we’re noticed is if we screw up.

Mi banda favorita por siempre!! acabo de conocer a un loko en la micro y nos hicimos amigos casi de inmediato gracias a Radiohead jaja y me mando este tema al wsp, no conocia la banda del cover, se nota que es wena, creo que escucharé un par de temas más de esa banda, pero como Radiohead no hay, a mi gusto solo pink floyd es lo mas comparable con radiohead..

Ok now that I hear that Smiths' cover, I see that they were inspired by them. When you compare the sound of this instrumental to 2000s Radiohead it really makes sense.
