Nato in Egitto da famiglia greca[1], tornò con questi nel paese di origine dopo la perdita di tutti i loro averi in seguito alla Crisi di Suez nel 1956. Come bassista ha uno stile che ricorda le sonorità e la tecnica di Paul McCartney e di Brian Wilson.

Ya soy vieja (55 años) pero estoy segura que si volviera a nacer las veces que sea me inclinaría hacia esta música sin temor a equivocarme. Si mi esposito amado de toda la vida (38 años juntos) muriera primero que yo, esta canción se la cantaría con todo el amor y dolor en mi corazón. Primeramente le cantaría un himno cristiano qué se llama Cuán grande es Él y como es de humano el sufrir por la partida de un ser querido y qué más mi esposito qué no recuerdo siquiera mi vida pasada sin él, cantaría esta canción para reafirmar mi amor por siempre.

Me and my wife married in 1973, we loved the song back then, my wife said that was our song. We have been married for almost 51 years, now, for some strange reason the song sounds to us far better, somehow it carries a fantastic enchantment!

My father used to listen to Demis Rousses alot.. He loved his songs and even attended his concerts back the days.. My father passed away 4 months ago and whenever I listen to Demis I feel heartache and miss my dad alot.. Rest in peace my dear dad:'(

Bless you Riham. So sorry to hear of your loss. It Is my mums favourite song still and seeing her so happy for me as a 8yr old at the time in the early seventies brings me back to a time of joy, gentleness and purity within music. A harmony and beauty I knew then but do not see today. My faith is in God above for our homecoming soon where we will meet our loved ones again according to the wonderful promises of God. Este hombre tiene una voz tan rara, ecléctica, gótica, renacentista, un superdotado. Y el sonido es espectacular. Un artista que debe estar en el podio de los mejores de todos los tiempos. Increíble las generaciones modernas ni saben quién es. Pero con el perdón de la modernidad, al lado de este cantante, son simples "postulantes" al canto.

It sounds to me that this song was written by angels in heaven and then sent to the earth. It has a unexplainable melody that releases body and mind from every earthy negativity. Full of deep love but to something unexplainable. A song that is sang by a man with a holy voice of love. Thankyou so much to everyone who have contributed making this amazing song.

I listened this sweet song for the first time in 1973 at the age of 6 when my father assigned his duty in Holland as military attache to the Indonesian Embassy. My mother bought Demis Roussos LP and used to play in our home. Everytime I hear this song I always remember both. My father passed away in 2006, my mother just passed away 10 days a go because of Covid 19 in her age of 87. We could only see her by Zoom before she died in the next day morning 22 February 2023.. when we were entering Ash Wednesday in Catholic. We will always remember that she died in Ash Wednesday of 2023. I miss them a lot. I wish my parents here to listen this song along with me in my loneliness in their empty house 😥🥺
