Just received my TX MKII ELRS with edgetx a week ago and i started the transition of all 14 quads receivers to ELRS. Its binds so easy, no more RSXR RX's for me. The wifi system is awesome for firmware updates. 😎 Great video Jon.

I love my TX12, especially after just adding the AG01-minis to the mix :D I run a full size Ghost module in it and it'll fit 2500mAh 2S lipos if you prefer that over the 18650s :)

I have the original tx12 and am running edgetx. Really like it as a backup for my tx16s and for traveling light. I like the form factor of the zorro but the screen placement, battery life and interchangeable modules with my tx16s with the tx12 like you mentioned.

I had high hopes for this video but, some constructive feedback, it didn't discuss any of the differences between the radios beyond the physical shape of them. Also, quite dark.
@JonE5FPV Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the feedback. The main differences are the shape, size and gimbal stick size, throw. They all have elrs built in these days and module bay for other control links so the physical differences are the primary ones that you pay for. I realize how this may not be very clear to a beginner so I’ll mention it from now on. (And work on the lighting as well)

these days you don't have to decide which brand to buy for a radio. the decision is which model from Radiomaster. and with ELRS it can be more than one.
@genjitsu74482 жыл бұрын
I really loved the Zorro when it first came out. I was also aware of this radio but I had discounted it a long time ago as too entry level... but if you compare the 2 they really are not that different. They use the same OS and that OS is also used by the flagship radio, they both can use the higher end AG01 gimbals, the TX12 even takes full size modules... what else is there? The circuit boards that the radio uses, the switches, they really are comparable. So this made me think about being biased about stuff and how i could love one and reject the other. Just a thought, this TX12 was a sleeper, sitting there while the Jumper T Lite came out, and the T Pro, the Iflight Commando, the Zorro and this guy is sitting there saying - hey, I can do all of that, I may not be "game pad" style but can't you get past my looks??? Humans are funny things.
@JonE5FPV2 жыл бұрын
VERY true, i think the full size module bay, and larger battery bay, make it a much more practical radio for many users, but like you said, many cant get past the looks. one of my long time racer buddies just ordered this as a travel radio since (1 - we need to have battery that can last many days when traveling, and 2 - if it can use full size ghost module, he can simply use same module)
@genjitsu74482 жыл бұрын
@@JonE5FPV Yea, the TX12 has a kind of "basic" look to it, which as we said is awesome that like most things in life it is what is inside that counts! So I am admitting that i saw it but could not pull the trigger - but what i did get I LOVE! I gots me a TBS Mambo! Wow, i just love this radio. The module bay is full size and I have the BetaFPV ELRS and TBS Multi Protocol modules for it. So with Tracer inside I think this radio can do anything! How has the summer been over there by the way? I commented to you once that there is something about your night spot that calls to me - like Stonehenge or something, whet can I say? I can't fly for anything and I mean that for real it is not a humble brag... my goggles are old Dominator V2's so the resolution is terrible and I have bad eyes and slow reaction times so this just piles up on me and so I only really fly LOS - which is its own kind of awesomeness so I don't feel like I am missing out - but I am missing out! And I have been out of work for a really really long time (I just landed a job last week, I start this Thurs, but it is only a contract job so 12 weeks... I will take it!!! 100%) That all started with an injury then bad doctors making things worse then... ugh. So I do not have any spare change for a set of HD Zero's (I mentioned them because as a company I like them the best, but I don't have any real idea about the tech and how it compares. I still have a lot to learn about this hobby. Oh, and when I saw the DJI price drop I was like YES! then I quickly turned around on myself and was like "still no!, not yet, but soon I hope if I can keep up the work. But wow, that is so great to help make that system more affordable. I would like to ask, does anyone race with it over by you and your crew or is there some reason other than latency that people don't race with DJI? Cheers.

@@JonE5FPV So - would you pick this radio, the Jumper T-Pro, The Radiomaster Zorro or even the TBS Mamba? Is this a tough choice or is this an easy pick? I really am not sure anymore! And I really want to know - compared to the TX16S V2 are you "really" giving anything up? If so what is it? I am trying to convince myself that I made a good choice and that I don't need to upgrade...

I fly with the tbs Mambo lately. I like the smaller form factor and the ability to put it in my bag. I also like the built in elrs. I have the tx16s. It just feels like too much going on for my uses. Good radio though.

the gimbals are hall sensor on model tx12 mark II??

yes sir they are, even the base model. Also upgradable to the metal hall sensor AGO1 mini hall sensor gimbals as well.
