When I first came across Oliver Anthony and his music, I was blown away to say the least. He had a whole collection of songs that I could listen to for hours. Oliver resides in Farmville, VA with his 3 dogs and a plot of land he plans on turning into a small farm to raise livestock. We have a whole mess of songs set to release of Oliver for your viewing and listening pleasure, he is truly special and notes his biggest influence as Hank Williams Jr. Oliver wants to give hope to the working class and your average hard working young man who may have lost hope in the grind of trying to get by.

I was born and raised in a small village in China, but the lyrics of this song powerfully resonate with me. My parents are almost into their 80s now, and they have never had good days in their whole lives - they have endured much pain and struggle even unimaginable to me. Nowadays, the so-called 'elite' (whether in the USA or China) is busy developing big and fancy ideas, leaving the working poor stuck in devastation. Politicians always talk about human rights, but in the meanwhile, they deliberately ignore our basic needs: the right to survive. Our meager earnings are even not enough for the rent and the utility bills.

I'll be 70 years old in 3 weeks, and I'm sorry to say I'm just beside myself I won't be here to see what they finally turn my country into. I proudly served my country and did my part in defending those I'd never met, for no reason other than they were my countrymen. Now, the hatred of my country, the open violation of the law by those in power, the bold faced lying in destruction of the election process, and unelected hourly federal workers and biased judges imposing restrictions on my freedoms have left me exhausted and embarrassed for myself. I wish I had the time to turn it around, but like it or not, I believe that, along with the associated crushing debt, this is the load I'm being forced to leave the younger to bear. I'm sorry. It wasn't supposed to be this way.

@CCAFS617 I just wish more people would look into stoicism, Marcus Aurelius knew so much about life. Politics have ruined this country. To many people believe our lives need to be owed to those above us or rasied us. We choose to believe we are poor or have angry cause of others. But we should look in word and be kind. That's what leads to change for an individual I've learned. “Kindness is unconquerable, so long as it is without flattery or hypocrisy. For what can the most insolent man do to you, if you contrive to be kind to him, and if you have the chance gently advise and calmly show him what is right…and point this out tactfully and from a universal perspective. But you must not do this with sarcasm or reproach, but lovingly and without anger in your soul.” Marcus Aurelius 🤴🏼🤴🏼🤴🏼

The area this singer comes from is one of the last great strongholds of Scots-Irish (Ulster) immigration into the US. It was a place nobody else wanted to live because of the poor soil and rugged mountainous terrain. It ended up being a coal mining area, and since coal has gone out of fashion, the people here are really struggling. It means a lot to us over here whose ancestors were driven out of Ireland and Scotland to read your comments. :)

Please learn how we got here - corrupt US sociopaths taking over countries to EMBEZZLE from more and more governments. They took over Australia in 1975, I assume you know the coup done then with some CIA help. Whitlam obviously had said NO to the embezzling plans. Anyway, here is the MINIMUM we need to know in order to end the reign of corrupt sociopathic money ADDICTS who have been embezzling government money for decades: Remember Henry Ford said that there would be "revolution before tomorrow morning" if the people know how the money system actually worked? Well, the corrupt sociopaths in power know that government money can be issued IN ANY AMOUNT for anything that is physically possible, and they have arranged scams for decades to EMBEZZLE that money! The major one is "privatization", where they pretend they will run something better than the government and "like a business", but this scam is designed so they can bill the government ANY AMOUNT, providing massive exec salaries and insanely high profits. Wall Street firms fall over each other to invest - so do most Congress (or Parliament) members - when these entities are put on the stock market, because they know that profits are guaranteed via fiat government money. They all know that government money is NOT OUR TAXES, and that countries that issue their own currency do NOT have an actual "national debt" that the liars love to fearmonger us about, etc. We need to know what they want kept hidden from us. The US has been taking over countries since WW2 to do this embezzling scam and has built a corruption cartel of many lapdog countries; the liars demonize any leader who does not submit, to manipulate public opinion so we go along with the coups, invasions, assassinations, etc. The US also directs the WHO, created the WEF, and monolithic entities like Blackrock, Vanguard and others got so big by participating in the embezzling globally! We need to see the BS and FIGHT the lunatic money addicts and their inhumanity. They lie us into wars & then embezzle most of the war money through "privatized" war companies, incarcerate people to enrich themselves via "privatized" prisons. "Privatized" healthcare enriches insurance companies and related companies & investors, another corruption scam where they get torrents of government money but do NOT spend it on the healthcare people need. Vax companies and the digital ID systems to subjugate us are also privatized! So are all the entities to track and control us that the liars pretend are to "help the climate": social credit, ESG, carbon tracking, digital bank currency, 15-minute cities and more. The scheme was to get TRILLIONS from many governments FOREVER while ensuring we could not rise up to stop their corruption, tyranny and inhumanity. (Pretending there is not enough energy, oil, food is how they will try to force us to get those digital IDs - they will say it is so we can get our "rations" and UBI etc to try to survive.) This electronic prison to subjugate is being finalized, so time is running short for us to expose them and stop their plans for us. They use cloaking terms like "private" prisons, "for profit" healthcare, "public-private partnerships", etc, because they know that there is public backlash against privatization; we should always push back and use the CORRECT term when they do this. Currently, public education is being privatized by calling it "school choice" and "charter schools". The lunatic money addicts in power lie, destroy and KILL for more "money fixes". They are totally UNFIT TO GOVERN and should face charges of dereliction of duty, violating the Constitution, embezzling federal money, crimes against humanity, violating the Nuremberg code, war crimes and more.

The line “young men are putting themselves 6 feet in the ground.. cus all this damn country does is keep on kicking them down” almost made me cry. That line speaks to so many men struggling financially. Even with a full time job, you aren’t good enough. Can’t afford bills. Can’t provide for a family and have to just deal with life alone. At their core, no man wants to be alone. Remember Adam had the whole world.. and even God noticed he was lonely and needed someone.

People need to start admitting the real reason this all started going south and it wasn't the last few presidencies. Its our whole generation and it's been the sacred cow of the last 30 years. The marginal tax rate for wealthy people used to be 91% than 70% and now it's 38%. Does anyone really think that trickle down economics worked? Taxing the obscenely wealthy at such a low rate only allowed the wealthy to hoard more wealth and create more billionaires. That means that the purchasing power of normal people keeps going down. The super rich drive up prices of all our necessities from rent to housing. They buy up more real estate in investment properties and keep driving up prices to where normal people can't afford to live. Property tax rates keep going up to benefit the wealthy and squeeze out the middle class and poor. Homelessness is at its highest point in decades while investment properties sit empty. You don't need to be a genius to know that even if your wages go up slightly, if a wealthy person gets way more wealthy, your prices go up. Imagine a farmers market where a billionaire is willing to pay a million dollars for an apple. He's gonna get that apple while everyone else starves, even if the farmer has enough apples to go around.

The authentic austere Scriptural God/Jesus only blesses a nation if they actually truly repent and return to Him after they have went astray. Songs like this really help more people open their eyes to the garbage they've been putting up with for far too long. This young man is doing a great service in the way he knows how. I hope he stays on our side of the fence and doesn't get pulled into the other side of the equation. Unfortunately, in order for him to make a living making these type of songs, he will need to play on both sides. Good luck to him on his journey from here. It certainly won't get easier for him from here on out if he wants to keep fighting the good fight.

She lost her parents to communism and moved to the US to get away. She said people would regularly disappear never to be heard from again. But it does make me worry - if it can happen there, it can happen here. Hopefully we muster the courage and wisdom to overcome this threat. I believe our nation is at risk of falling apart, just like Soviet Union did in 1989. These are dark days, and hopefully we emerge victorious, but it is far from guaranteed and unless people actually DO something, we will lose.
