Sir i did same surgery but put titanium implan that for life long my stappler removed alternative that all done yesterday i had 14 stappler but now my problme i can see the sooches internal stitch is this any problme? When it will remove sir

After surgery, could be any changes in forearm shape?? and how about swelling after surgery!!

Swelling will subside by 10- 14 days, no change in shape, plate thickness is only 3-4 mm, won't alter the shape.

Hi , K wiring is not regularly done in adults, theoretically possible since ulna is intact,but radius is a curved bone ,k wiring may not have 3 point fixation everytime , may to giveaway torsional stress . Even In official AO app and website k- wiring or TENS NAILING is not even mentioned in the modality of treatment in radius shaft fractures ( transverse & oblique types ) . Either minimally invasive or ORIF plating is routinely done 👍🏼👍🏼.

Better to remove plate within 2 years after surgery ,after proper union. Maximum time it won't cause any problem,

Median nerve injury in volar approach?

No ,Median nerve is not prone for injury in this approach ,but in 10% patients with absence of Palmaris longus tendon, median nerve might be mistaken as tendon and prone for injury. . Yes ,i should have avoided that that statement.👍

@@medi360 Thanks for the suggestion. But at my ulnar fracture site a prominent gap is visible even after 4 months. Is it a sign of non-union?

It differs fir each bone , on average 18- 24 months will be better , after confirmation of union on X-ray.

Sir but how will be the stepler will be removed as the patient will have a plaster around it??

Hi , we will apply plaster slab which will be covered on one surface only ,so on dressing days we will remove the slab and do the dressing,only after the suture or stapler removal and swelling subsided - we will apply a plaster cast (360° covering).

Sir please tell my son at the age 15yrs he fall down and both rádius/ulna fractured surgery not done not fixed properly now age 20yrs any reoperation

Have to confirm with examination how much there is restriction in the movements. If the movements are grossly restricted then better to do Surgery osteotomy and plate fixation.

HOW MUCH GAP IS ACCEPTABLE ,DR ? I HAVE 4-5MM GAP IN HUMERUS AFTER ORIF

Acceptable Bone gap of Upto 2-3mm in non-articular fractures and only upto 0.2mm in intraarticular fractures .

If there is nonunion of Fracture by 6 months ,then it requires intervention.

It's depends on the fracture type and fixation. On average after upper limb plating its take nearly 4 to 6 weeks for recovery ( till then slab is required). But after 3-4 months only adviced to lift medium weights.
