NEWS x MUSE Julian Cornejo talks with the star of Young Sheldon, Raegen Revord and Montana Jordan about the final season of the show at PaleyFest.
For young Sheldon Cooper, it isn't easy growing up in East Texas. Being a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn't always helpful in a land where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naïve Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him. His father, George, is struggling to find his way as a high school football coach and as father to a boy he doesn't understand. Sheldon's mother, Mary, fiercely protects and nurtures her son in a town where he just doesn't fit in. Sheldon's older brother, Georgie, does the best he can in high school, but it's tough to be cool when you're in the same classes with your odd younger brother. Sheldon's twin sister, Missy, sometimes resents all the attention Sheldon gets, but also remains the one person who can reliably tell Sheldon the truth. Finally, there’s Sheldon's beloved Meemaw, his foul-mouthed, hard-drinking Texas grandmother who is very supportive of her grandson and his unique gifts. For 12 years on The Big Bang Theory, audiences have come to know the iconic, eccentric, and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. This single-camera, half-hour comedy allows us the chance to meet him in childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward, and hopeful journey toward the man he will become.

@@TimeTheory2099 I love both of these actors characters. The way they react to the situations and the overly detailed brother is epic. They are WAY more likable then the weird smarty pants.

I love Missy. I'd love to see a spin off of Missy and Paige do Austin, after Missy graduates. I can't believe she's not going to be in the spin off. In TBBT, Georgie says he took care of mom and Missy, and everything else after George dies. This implies that he was home with them, and he was working to keep the house going. So why aren't there more characters carrying over. Mandy and Georgie are doomed as he was married several times. The age gap between them is significant. She's also got a college degree and had a profession. Mandy's eventually going to snap out of it and get going.

If Georgie's show is successful and has multiple seasons, it's extremely likely Missy will show up at some point.

As much as some people may not like it, they do not have to use TBBT as any sort of source material or template for the Mandy & Georgie spin-off. As they said in this clip, “they can do anything they want.” Young Sheldon already changed things. In TBBT Sheldon frequently commented how he was bullied by Billy Sparks. In YS, Sheldon was bullied by Billy’s younger sister in one episode. I don’t even remember her name, but Billy seemed to be kind-hearted in that show. While Georgie may or may not end up having several marriages, I saw an interview with Emily & Montana saying Mandy could marry him more than once! And they also said YS actors could make cameos.

Nah I'm calling it next they'll do a spinoff for georgie and mandy then they'll do OLD SHELDON when we see sheldons kid(s) grow up and what sheldons like as an old man
