Come and explore the history of RAF Beaulieu from the Second World War period to present day. On display will be never before seen photos and film footage from the 1940s. Also included will be physical artefacts from the New Forest’s wartime history. Kids can take part in a quiz as they explore the exhibition, with a prize at the end.
Also exhibiting local aviation history will be RAF Calshot in the Bob Coles room, the Friends of the New Forest Airfields, plus displays for RAF Lymington & RAF Needs Oar Point. In addition, selected elements of the late Alan Brown’s 12 New Forest Airfields work have been restored to be shown in his memory.
Other exhibitors include Beaulieu’s Model Flying Committee, Tony Johnson showing a history of Royal visitors to the New Forest, and the New Milton Heritage Society’s exhibition on the Indian Army in the New Forest.
All proceeds from the exhibition will go towards the regeneration of East Boldre Village Hall which is on the site of the WW1 period airfield across the road from RAF Beaulieu.
Entry will be a £1 for adult, and kids go free. Donations towards the hall also accepted.
