played curator, rafam stole my amalgam round 2, ended up losing at top 2 entirely because the stolen amalgam was giga buffed

There’s a lot of different things they could do about Rafaam. They could make the hero power cost more, or make the minions you get not sell for anything, or make it only steal if you attacked and destroyed the first minion, or make the hero power require you to sacrifice a minion, or a bunch of other things that Blizzard will DEFINITELY not do for at least a month.

We only get the highlights on KZfaq, of course - but still, Rafaam is ridiculously good at the moment, especially in getting you through the early game so easily that you have time to level up and find the good stuff at the end.

I think the worst part of Rafaam is that Rafaam requires only one dummy to go nuts - one guy to leave their Lightfang at the front, or a crucial buffer. And because these valuable minions are usually placed near the front to pop Shields, it is actively punishing regular, optimal play. Then you have a Lightfang, Brann, or useful buffer, and can start scaling to the moon.

Mistakes, always pick zapp with Rafaam to farm lightfangs and branns.

Rafaam is blatantly overpowered. His hero power is genuinely godly and actively punishes players for getting ahead, not to mention the fact that it's even a gold generator and since everyone is running Murlocs, you just snowball. Like, why?

This is why I love Rafaam. When I played him a couple of times, I decided to go for similar strats, sell token in turn 1 and use hero power, don't level in turn 2 to use hero power etc... It's a good change that this hero can actually benefit from playing 'a bit behind' the meta and this can lead to real strength. This can be also too risky and lead to fast death, but this is the fun of it. Mid game, the hero power can either mean just a delayed 1 gold if you sell the unit, but can save you 2 if you use it and get you triples as well which really a good power burst.

King Bagurgle is the truth, man. Finding him off Primalfin Lookouts is the best thing ever.

Yeah I said the same the moment I read the hero power.... You're guaranteed a good/great card every time you use it. He also goes against the limit of minions and can net you minions of 5/6 stars for just 1 coin each time... it's insane they thought it was balanced.

Rafaam is zero risk with huge potential rewards. Guess that beta tag really isn't kidding, but still surprised it even went live, unless they're thinking about trying to get other heroes to that level of power

I massively misplayed myself down to 1 hp with all players remaining as rafaam. My first few hero powers whiffed and I kept forgetting to not put my cobalt guardian first against nefarian. I still ended up in first because of the hero power getting me so many trips. I would have gotten 7th or 8th with probably every other hero. I like him and I'll always pick him to pad my mmr but yeah, he's busted.

Hes my favorite. Stealing that new battlecry merloc has been nice. Alot of people in my current ello lead with it. Alot of peeps are running merlocs and the 2/1 merloc 1/1 token is the like the best turn 1. about 50% are leading the 2/1 as there attacking minion(2 games in a row I got that minion and it was my starting minion too, I tech up and got my triples early and they were easy games . Even the token is not that bad . It sucks when you accidently triple anything by stealing a 3rd copy of a minion or token . sometimes the next tier up isnt going to help your current build . I learned windfury is good against the divine shield comps. Thanks for that tip. Ive been taking the health after poision divine shield without any thought.

Was a rafaam in my last lobby , he ended 8th , we all fed him tokens and bad minions , only got 1 triple and i cant say if it was tavern or hero power ... But ive also played has rafaam and won easy , people not understanding how rafaam hero power works , feeding me the same minions or the good ones xD It is hard to play around him late game but not impossible either :S They need to bring other heroes to his level though

If it only worked if you killed the first minion that'd be fair at that cost, but that's hard to describe in ten words or less. As it is, it needs to be like... 2-3 mana, at least. At worst it's "Bank a gold", and at best it's getting you the best cards in your enemies' comps and triggering like 2-4 extra triples it doesn't deserve. I'm not positive how this made it through whatever beta testing they did. Like, some of the nerfs, and then THIS pushed through? They're on drugs.

Rafaa is definitely strong, but this was an EXTREMELY luck filled round. That's why it's a highlight, took him hundreds of rounds to get this much luck.
