WBC/WBO world champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue and WBA/IBF king Marlon Tapales will collide in an undisputed junior featherweight showdown on Tuesday, December 26 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo. Inoue, already a four-division world champion, seeks to become the second fighter to earn four-belt undisputed status in a second division.
Inoue vs Tapales and undercard bouts will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ in a special early-morning presentation.

I had checked the mexican's quality of opponent and thought he was a walk in the park for Robeisy. This mexican fighter fought like a real champion. He dug deep, had the chin to withstand punches and just kept moving forward like a true mexican warrior. I'm very impressed.

Truly amazing performance. A guy who was winning then losing, then just gutted out a major upset and world championship with a RELENTLESS and strong-willed performance right to the bell. Rarely do you see a guy able to keep punching like that until the end. Well Deserved, Champ.

Soon as I saw the Cuban dude walk in smiling 😊 like it was a big exhibition Miami / Cuban Fiesta, looking like it was just one big Latin Caribbean celebration Calle 8 style, Reggaeton and Salsa included I knew he was in trouble 😈. The Mexican dude came in with a stone cold 🥶 state of mind, all business. The fiesta 🎉 might have started with Maracas 🪇 and Congas but it finished with Mariachi Trumpets and Mexican Corridos 😎. Dam I thought Ramirez had him in the 5th. Dude just never gave up and after the 12th if they didn’t give him the fight I would have been done with boxing. Judges got it right, but the 113-113 was BS. Ramirez won’t be making that mistake again waiting for the one and done. Dude’s got power and figured he could KO the skinny kid. Newsflash skinny kid was tougher than he looked. Never judge a book by its cover in this case never judge a skinny kid and his heart. That performance was all heart.

I was at this event last night. Went to see Xander Zayas and he held it down, but this fight was nuts. Espinoza just refused to give up and the crowd was stunned when he pulled off the upset. What a night!!

@@pasofino9583 Espinoza definitely had a smaller section of Mexican fans going crazy for sure and I can't speak for everyone, but he definitely made a fan out of me with that performance and how gracious he was to Ramirez for even granting him the opportunity for the title match. I will definitely be following Espinoza from now on and I can't wait to see what else he accomplishes!

@@Anti.Vegans I'm talking from a technical skill set perspective. Espinoza literally switched feet at such close distance and doesn't use his length to control the distance against a smaller fighter. His stamina is crazy to throw the amount he did in the championship rounds and that's impressive in itself, that's all buddy.

My daughter and I was watching this fight she six and my family knows how much I love the sport but she ask me during the fight why I like boxing so much and when the decision was read I told her that's why because alot of people didn't give him a chance and when all things weren't going his way he dug deep and keep pushing. Robeisy is one of my favorite fighters but I always said when the level of competition goes up that he faces, he was going to need more to his game than just the drop fade to set up the looping/over hand left. His jab is nowhere to be found, he rarely goes to the body ever, occasional lead hook, hope he bounces back though but much deserved win for Espinoza 👏🏻

No le quedaba de otra . Con esa enorme ventaja en el tamaño otra cosa no podía hacer . Pero igual pagó cara su victoria. El tren lo chocó bien duro. Montón de mexicanos se han negado a pelear con boxeadores que les llevan mucho tamaño. Un caso muy sonado fué con Celestino caballero de Panamá. Nadie quería pelear con él por que perdían siempre.

Sometimes after witnessing a series of trash fights where either the judges ruin it or end up being just showcase fights, I start losing faith in this sport I grew up with and say I'd rather watch MMA.
