The amount of people I see who validate will's violence by calling Chris rock a "bully" whilst not even trying to prove any sort of power imbalance between them and not even trying to prove how Will was powerless or significantly less powerful in the situation to fight back verbally or even physically, is surprisingly significant. They immediately make the assumption that any insult or joke is bullying without any given context. They don't have the intelligence to question their own definitions of words or their own logic. It's saddening to see someone who physically assaulted another person over a joke about them waiting for jada to portray a strong female character, be paraded as a champion who "stood up to his bully".

@marcuscarana92402 жыл бұрын
Honestly, that speech was very well made and inspirational but . . . It feels premanufactured, as if it was always something he rehearsed and already memorized in case he needed it for "worst case scenarios". And really Will Smith who can cry on cue, have delivered the best performances in Hollywood, there's really no telling anymore if the tears, emotions and words are genuine or all just an act. His words say one thing, but his actions, the way he treats extras and "lower" celebs, it says differently.

Will’s tears and shaky voice comes because he knows in his moment - he knows he doesn’t match what’s in his own speech. He knew he messed up and is why he stepped down from the awards and went to rehab. That’s too many tears for someone who won. Idk what’s going on with him in his head or at home but that line about taking abuse and smile like it’s ok, seems to touch a deeper part of him. I hope he finds a way through it- whatever’s he’s going through. He’s too good a man and actor to fall like this.

"Violence never brings peace" - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love... Our aim must never be to defeat or humiliate the white man but to win his friendship and understanding. The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy, instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence, you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence, you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Take care and God bless

Denzel Washington has a wife who actually respects him, that’s the difference. Just like Lebron’s wife. Many modern women have believed the lie that to be a quiet low key wife while she lets her husband shine for the good of the whole family , is a bad thing or means he is beneath her. . Regarding Will’s wife and Steph’s wife , When a wife is acting up, it’s hard for husband to stay focused on the task at hand. Sad part is these women see what affect their showing out is having on their man but they don’t care. They want him to fall off so she can have the glory.

As a woman who suffers from Alopecia, Chris Rock’s joke was inappropriate as fuck. Will Smith perhaps found it funny as first but didn’t realize that his wife wasn’t ready for jokes about it and then dealt with it correctly. It’s harder for women to deal with hair problems and I think Will Smith did the right thing here. Also comparing her health condition with her relationship situation with Will isn’t fair. Totally ! Any average Joe walking on the stage, would have been accosted by Security and tackled before reaching Rock. Then nobody did nothing. Rock is like stumbling the rest of the way. He handled about as well as anyone could under the circumstances.
@slowkugaming49452 жыл бұрын
He wasn't "defending" his wife when he was LAUGHING at first. The whole speech was him basically justifying his actions and never once admitted his fault or apologized to Rock. A professional is a person who can admit fault, clearly he can't nor can he see how high his privilege is.

Also salute to Chris Rock for staying professional & not reacting to getting slapped. Sad to see this incident unfold live at a Academy Awards show like that but it is what it is.
