Rafah border crossing: Egypt rejects Israel's plan for reopening

Egypt has rejected Israel’s proposal to jointly coordinate the reopening and management of the Rafah crossing between Sinai and Gaza. This decision comes after Israel's recent seizure of the Gaza side of the crossing. Egypt insists that, in accordance with existing agreements, the Gaza side should be managed solely by Palestinian authorities.
Reporting live from Amman, Jordan, Al Jazeera’s Imran Khan covers the developments, following Israel's shutdown of Al Jazeera’s operations within its borders. Joining the live coverage from Montreal is Mouin Rabbani, a Middle East analyst and co-editor of the online magazine Jadaliyya.

It will go on for some time to come unless NATO shrugs off it's restrictive strict rules and shows some flexibility in it's approach to direct troop support for Ukraine . They don't have to enter the front line fighting just secure all of Western Ukraine and create a safe zone that Putin can not ever take . That will be so helpful to Ukraine in many ways and a buffer zone for Poland .

Egypt is ten times the size of Israel in population, with that, Egypt should start surrounding the buffer zone, so that, humanitarian food and medical aid can get to Palestinians sooner! There's a forsaken amount of land, that all allies for Palestinians, should agree, and support that buffer zone in saving lives! This Buffer Zone should be the main priority, to focus on, in the Israeli invasion on Palestine! Egypt was previously accused of blocking the border, really what they had done was built a new fence on their own land which will prevent fleeing ethnic cleansing victims from moving very far into Egypt once Israel chases them across the actual border

There is no Gaza problem. There is an Israel problem. We support and have taken in countless Palestinian brothers/sisters. People whose lands have been stolen from them. I think the problem here are the fnatical people claiming land because God promised them and carrying out a g****ide and e- cleansing. Maybe those people shouldnt be doing that and could be living in a normal country that is a democracy of Palestine in peace?

Egypt is the one blocking aid so why has the ICC not put out warrants for Egypts leader ? That's right he' s an Arab not a Jew and Mr Karim Armed Khan ICC prosecutor is so impartial , so fair . I think Not .

Egypt is not occupying Gaza, Israel is, Turkey wanted to send AID via ship, Israelis did not allowed it. It is one thing closing your border like Egypt did but to prevent AID reaching GAZA by the Sea or AIR is another thing.

@@ibobeko4309 Egypt is the one refusing to allow any aid to enter Rafah crossing from Egypt . How can you not understand that ? Aid from Turkey was upset because Turkey shut down all trade with Israel and would not allow any Israeli ships to dock in Turkey so Israel did the same . Again NOT ISRAELS FAULT !

@JuanValentino-yu1ft egypt has the right close it is border because it is not responsible for the war. Israel, as the occupying power is responsible for the civilians. And Israel is the one closing gazas air and sea border of Gaza.
