Darbari Kanhada is a serious and grave raga. Usually this raga used to be sung in the Darbars of emperor Akbar and which is thought to have originated in Carnatic music and brought into Hindustani classical music by Miyan Tansen, the legendary 16th-century composer in emperor Akbar's court. Pandit Jasraj belongs to the Mewati gharana of Hindustani classical music, has rendered this raga uniquely in its purest forms. Jasraj's vocal range extends three-and-a-half octaves and uses precise diction, a trademark of the Mewati gharana's style of khayal. He has also done extensive research in Haveli Sangeet under Baba Shyam Manohar Goswami Maharaj to create numerous innovative bandish (composition).

I was 12 -13 year old when I heard Pt Jasraj Ji for the first time. Before that, music for me was Bollywood music of movies like K3G or One I use to hear on radio of my Grandfather. But when I heard “Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaye” in raag Bhimplasi, I was blown. It was like waking up from a dream. I was so spellbound that tears started falling from my eyes. That was the moment I instantly fell in love with classical music. ❤️

My college days I used to listen pt. Jasraj ji regularly before going to bed. A Walkman with headphones was presented by someone to me. And yes while listening pt. Ji I think myself Akbar badshah listening tansen. Pt. Ji real treasure of India🙏🙏🙏

String theory predicts that there are extra spatial dimensions. String theory predicts 6 more space dimensions, along with our 3 + 1 space-time dimensions , i dont know when can that be proven , but pandit ji's singing definitely takes me to another dimensions .

@Haris Ali -- I do recognize that you mean well by wishing that his soul rest in peace. But as it happens, Jasraj was a Hindu and therefore it's inappropriate to wish him R.I.P. Hindus don't believe that the soul rests in peace til the day of final judgement when god resurrects the dead, etc. Hindus believe the soul is reincarnated until a person gains release from the cycle of birth and death. After that, there's no more birth and death. Therefore, the proper wish for a departed Hindu is "May you soon get free of the cycle of rebirth" and the short form of that is "Om Shanti." Peace.

Ram Ram ji,कबीर साहिब एक दिन गंगा के किनारे घूम रहे थे। उन्होंने देखा एक पपीहा प्यास से बेहाल होकर नदी में गिर गया है। पपीहा स्वांति नक्षत्र में बरसने वाली वर्षा की बूंदो के अलावा और कोई पानी नहीं पीता। उसके चारो और कितना ही पानी मजूद क्यों ना हो उसे कितनी ही जोर से प्यास क्यों न लगी हो वह मरना मजूर करेगा परन्तु और किसी पानी से अपनी प्यास नहीं बुझायेगा। कबीर साहिब नदी में गिरे हुए उस पक्षी की और देखते रहे। सख्त गर्मी पड़ रही थी पर नदी के पानी की एक बूँद भी नहीं पी। उसे देखकर कबीर साहिब ने कहा :- जब मै इस छोटे से पपीहे की वर्षा के निर्मल जल के प्रति भक्ति भक्ति मे श्रद्धा और निष्ठां देखता हूँ की प्यास से मर रहा है। लेकिन जान बचाने के लिए नदी का पानी नहीं पीता तो मुझे मेरे ईश्वर के प्रति अपनी भक्ति तुच्छ लगने लगती है.... पपीहे का पन देख के , धीरज रही न रंच मरते दम जल का पड़ा, तोउ न बोडी चंच। . अगर हर भक्त को अपने इष्ट के प्रति पपीहे जैसी तीव्र लगन और प्रेम हो तो वह बहुत जल्दी ऊँचे रूहानी मंडलों में पहुंच जाये। . गोस्वामी श्री तुलसीदास जी भी कहते हैं,” निर्मल मन जन सो मोहिं पावा,मोहिं कपट छल छिद्र नहीं भावा। Ram Ram ji
