कौशिक ध्वनी (भिन्न-षड्ज) प्राचीन राग भिन्न-षड्ज को वर्तमान में कौशिक-ध्वनि के नाम से जाना जाता है। इसका वादी स्वर मध्यम होते हुए भी इसके बाकी स्वर भी उतने ही महत्वपूर्ण हैं जिन पर ठहराव किया जा सकता है। इस कारण इस राग में विस्तार की पूर्ण स्वतंत्रता है और इसे तीनो सप्तकों में सहज रूप से गाया जा सकता है। गमक और मींड के प्रयोग से राग का रूप निखर आता है। अवरोह में सा' नि ध ऐसा सीधा लेने की अपेक्षा मींड में सा' ध लेना ज्यादा मधुर सुनाई देता है। इस राग की प्रकृति शांत व गंभीर है। यह स्वर संगतियाँ राग कौशिक-ध्वनि का रूप दर्शाती हैं - सा ,ध ,नि सा ग म ; ग म ध ; ग म ; ग सा ; ग म नि ध म ; ध नि सा' ; सा' ग' सा' ; ग' सा' नि ध ; ध नि सा' ध म ; म ध ग म ; ग सा ; थाट बिलावल राग जाति औडव - औडव गायन वादन समय रात्रि का द्वितीय प्रहर ७ बजे से १० बजे तक आरोह अवरोह सा ग म ध नि सा' - सा' नि ध म ग सा; वादी स्वर मध्यम संवादी स्वर षड्ज कौशिक ध्वनी (भिन्न-षड्ज राग राग एक है पर नाम दो है भीम सड़क और कौशिक ध्वनी

Once again, what an amazing performance by the great incarnation of Mata Saraswati who by her credibility has already established herself as one of the doyens of Hindustani Classical Music at this fresh age. I simply went on listening to her rendition again and again and kept on crying, for unknown rationales, and still doing the same while writing out this comment. Probably she might have sung out her compassion and maybe that's the justification for my constant sobbing, which is creeping and gushing out from within me in an unstoppable manner. These fifteen and half minutes are not enough for the listeners' contentment, rather, we need to listen to her, remotely more than anyone's expectation, that is, quite similar to a no stopping flight into ur inner selves. Many many thanks to you, Kaushiki Ji, for such an outstanding interpretation of the Raga Kaushik Dhwani and wish you to continue to do the same for years and years on, in the never-ending future of your musical career while providing uninterrupted elation and gratification to your audience and aficionados.
