It seems to have gone over some heads so to be clear, these are the best 15-20 new weapons (from our testing/in our opinion) in the DLC ranked against each other. Not literally all 100 on a Tier List which would be ridiculous.

Every video and wiki source keeps misleading people about the ancient meteoric ore greatsword, the ash damage does NOT directly scale by 12% from the magic scorpion talisman, instead you get 12% bonus only to the tiny magic AR present on the weapon and that tiny bonus shows up in the ash damage also, nothing more - a quick 2 minute test on any elden ring enemy proves this

I think the ancient meteoric ore greatsword is severely underrated in this list. It has the Zweihander moveset, which is the best Colossal moveset in the game imo (yes, even over the Fire Knight/Godslayer). And while the arcane requirement with magic damage seems weird at first, it actually works really well because the arcane increased the physical damage as well as the magic damage. So you want to get your strength to 54 to have effectively 80 while two handing, and then pump the rest of your damage points into arcane to make this thing hit like a truck. At 54 str and 35 arcane, I hit an AR of 911 and the majority of that is pure physical, with about 130 points being magic. Comparatively, a heavy infused greatsword will hit 884 at 80 strength. All of this is further improved by the sheer versatility of the ash of war. The fact that you can attack directly out of the lunge without doing the explosion gives this incredible utility in PVE and PVP. You can go for the explosion, an R1, a crouch R1, an R2, whatever the situation calls for. The sheer versatility afforded by the Ash of War, coupled with the monster damage output you can get makes this the best colossal sword in the game right now imo.

A lengthy note on the thrusting shield example from the video: If you wanna go for that kind of playstyle, I suggest instead to go for a Fingerprint Stone Shield + Occult Seppuku Cross-Naginata setup (you can use the Bloodfiend's Sacred Spear instead of the Cross-Naginata if you dont wanna bother with Seppuku, it has a baseline 55 bleed build up but the Occult Seppuku Cross-Naginata will be stronger in my experience). Go for defensive / stamina talismans like Greatshield talisman, Double Turtle talisman, Dragoncrest Greatshield talisman and finally something like Lord of Blood's Exultation for some extra damage. You will need 12 Intelligence in order to buff your shield with Scholar's Shield to further improve its guard and its magic damage negation. If your level allows it, add some Faith to round up the build with extra buffs like Bestial Vitality, specific resistance buffs depending on the boss, and of course your usual combo of Golden Vow + Flame, Grant Me Strength for extra damage and damage negation. Keep in mind that Flame, Grant Me Strength and resistance buffs MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE, so you have to decide if you want extra defense or extra damage. Also, Flame Grant Me Strength and Golden Vow have higher Faith requirements but more on that later. Seal and Staff choice doesn't matter cause we're only buffing and buffs potency doesn't scale with anything but I suggest either the Dragon Communion Seal or the Frenzied Flame Seal since they weight 0 Miyazakis and the Albinauric Staff because it's one of the lightest weighting 2.5 Miyazakis. So, attributes points should go towards: - 50-55 Vigor (You can go a bit lower on Vigor with this build as you wont be trading with bosses and overall you're gonna take very little damage but it's good to have a good amount in case something goes wrong and/or for general quality of life, I wouldn't go for less than 50); - 15-20 Mind for quality of life, you could probably get away with a bit less; - For Endurance I personally like to go for 30-40 for energy and equip load reasons (this build is somewhat energy intensive as you will be blocking while attacking with the spear); - 48 Strength to meet the shield requirements; - Dexterity required for your weapon of choice (20 for the Cross-Naginata, 12 for the Bloodfiend's Sacred Spear); - 12 Intelligence to have access to Scholar's Shield; - 12/15/25 Faith for buffs, depending on your level and how many points you can spare (12 for Bestial Vitality + specific resistance buff, 15 for Flame Grant me Strength but remember that it will cancel your specific resistance buff and viceversa, 25 for Golden Vow. More on this below); - 60-70 Arcane to boost your damage, I would try to get to 60 ASAP and then eventually get to 70 once you're done with the other stats, maybe before increasing Faith to 25 but honestly it's personal preference. The build is somewhat stat hungry as you can see, if you arent high enough level to cover all of the stats, I suggest lowering your faith to 12 as the other attributes are more important and ignore Golden Vow / Flame Grant Me Strength until you are high enough level to grab those. Don't forget to wear your White Mask for an extra 10% damage whenever you proc bleed (Seppuku will proc both White Mask and Lord of Blood Exultation while prebuffing, giving you a head start at the beginning of a fight) and wear the highest mitigation armor that your equip load allows you to. Lastly, for the Wondrous Physicks Flask I suggest using the Greenburst Crystal Tear for extra stamina regen and the Thorny Cracked Tear for extra damage. And that's it! The gameplay is simple and effective. I wouldn't bother buffing too much for normal enemies, the extra guard from Scholar's Shield wont be necessary for normal enemies, I'd use Golden Vow more freely tho as it lasts a long time, 80 seconds IIRC, and Seppuku before approaching dangerous enemies like flame knights for example to proc buffs from White Mask and Lord of Blood Exultation; After buffing, you just keep your shield up and poke with the spear, taking absolutely no damage while clapping bosses with bleed procs. Just mind your stamina and be careful if you need to rebuff mid fight since the animation for Scholar's Shield is pretty long and Seppuku will damage you for 100 + 15% of your max HP. Hope this helps!

Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword is absolutely cracked. These new bosses love jumping away, so being able to stay on their ass and keep them from using their long range bs is very useful

i can't agree with this. some of the reasonings here are weird. meteoric ore greatsword can't be paired well with seals so it's that low? it has an ash of war with infinite hyperarmor that will chase dodging enemies and deals huge stance damage. it has high damage overall and great attacks all around. yet low because of seals? sword of night sohuldn't be that high. it's good, but the ash of war is just a weaker version of the winged stance with some extra effects. using a milady with bleed gives higher overall damage and does more stagger. ansbach bow should go much higher. the damage poteential and status potential is outrageous and it has fantastic scaling, yielding really high damage when using the right arrows against the right enemies. the deft knight longaxe should go quite a bit higher due to it's good base damage and long immunity frames with the ash of war, it's also buffed by the armor set alongside it yielding even more damage, i've been able to crank out damage in the 5-8k range with minimal effort. fire knight's greatsword is literally one of the best weapons in the entire game because of it's ridiculous base damage and ash of war boosting capabilities. backhand blades are just worse curved swords, less damage and worse motion values for bleed buildup. falx on the other hand is an easy S+ weapon. it has by far the highest dps potential of any weapon added in the dlc, just pair it with some heavy armor and wreak havok

The executioners great axe has a great buff that turns all heavy attacks into charged attacks. With the Bloodfiend arm is WRECKS bosses

nah the disrespect my goat weapon the shadow sunflower blossom not making the list is crazy, the thing has some nutty AR, great attacks as well as a NUTTY AoW, i can count on one hand the amount of times i've been knocked out of it's ash of war since getting it plus the thing hits like a damn TRUCK, with the AoW alone you can chew through the toughest enemies hell i can even one shot omens in the sewers in leyendell with this thing on NG+1 no sweat with no buffs put some respect on the flower!

Messamer spear needs a small buff. Unless you are wearing high poise , your special ability is useless. I want to wear messamer armour not big yoat armour.

I'm finding the Smithscript Hammer amazing for world PVE, with its heavy throwing attack attack, although less useful for bosses.

Its probably one of the best twinblades in the dlc. Well yeah, there's only 2 of them. At worst is the second best twinblade (though i guess it can be seen as the worst as well) though i think it's better than Euporia because you can change AoW on it. It has similar AR to the Gargoyle twinblade but much longer (and looks way better). Been using two in a bleed/Frost build with the Crucible wings AoW

Today I learned I'm a B-Tier enjoyer. Most of what I used in my playthrough was Blacksteel Hammer and Meteroric Greatsword. Lion's Claw on the hammer was really good and the greatsword ash is really fun to dash around with.

Messmers Spear is a freak of nature! Best weapon I ever used in my opinion. You can buff the R2 throwing so well and clear every mob effortlessly. And the ash of war can be timed very good. S Tier

Where is your positioning in the hand to hands compared to other weapons?

The Smithscript Cirque were pretty good prenerf, on Sacred/Magic/Flame Art affinity they had 200 more AR than the regular backhand blade, and their guard counter was a throw with a backstep which made them very mobile with blind spot being a gap closer, whereas the backhand blade's guard counter is like an all in dash similar to the Revenger's Blade Ash of War. These are the only weapons I've seen to have a special moveset on a guard counter, its almost like having a second ash of war on the weapon, never seen these in the vanilla weapons, is it that uncommon?

Damn. Was hoping to see the Sword of Damnation in here since I worked so hard to get it just now. I agree wholeheartedly on Messmers Spear tho, as cool as it is, getting poise broken out of the AoW is too common and just heartbreaking Crazy how all the S tier weapons aren't boss weapons tho. They really should feel like something you work toward but they just end up getting forgotten about

I'm still using 2x Magma Blade. This is the highest DPS build without the long "casting" time from the Bloodfiend Arm. It has like +20-30% DPS compared to BA.

Why doesn't the Anvil Hammer appear on this list? It hits like a TRUCK.

There's a couple of fun underrated ones. The Crucible hammer may take forever to wind up its version of the Ordovis Greatsword ash, but it has a ridiculous lingering hitbox that hits three times and does a mountain of damage. Metyr finger hammer got a ton of damage from the faith fix. It's basically a better Ruins Greatsword, because its ash scales up with more than weapon level.

Spear of the Impaler in the same tier as Renallas Swords is straight up insane.

From all the things in the game the only thing I really hate is bleed and how op it is since the start of the game

I feel like people are sleeping on the Putrescence Cleaver. It's not super broken, but the ash of war is really entertaining and it feels pretty strong overall, especially if you continue to level up past 150.

I use the ancient meteoric ore with a staff death spells actually ancient death rancor stuffs enemies and I charge with the swords ash nothing survives.

The only thing that should be changed on the bow is that its damage should go higher then it is if you land more shots and the amount of status build it should be based on how many shots hit as well... but if they were to lower the damage of the art then they would have to also lower the amount of arrows it uses cause 8 per shot for pathetic damage isnt going to fly

I don't understand the hype around thrusting shields now that they're nerfed. Using a fingerprint stone shield with messmer soldier spear is a much better option. Heck, even a golden greatshield is a better option if you don't like fingerprint's weight.

I've been wondering, why do you say that split damage is good? In Elden Ring, same as dar souls, is always better a weapon with, at most, two damage elements.

18:50 The bad I see with that weapon is you end just using the heavy attack ONLY, very repetitive, that attack is so fast and good, it even has extra bleed, all other attacks feel useless.

Chicken Wing was significantly nerfed in the last patch, and is going to be subpar against hemorrhage resistant or immune enemies (eg Radagon), so S+ is OTT for the CW.

while i understand your POV. i disagree with the weapons needing more "poise" or faster combos. maybe a hint of hyper armor is what you meant by more poise. but even that i don't think they need. you can just build around the weapon. make sure your build can wear heavier armor if you plan to use those weapons, or else your timing must be perfect. you also have talismans like bullgoat to help with your poise if you are really into a certain set for the fashion. basically my point is, the tier lists are subjective. the weapons just like real life are deadlier in one players hands then another players.. if you are going to do a tier list it should be based off of purely how much damage you can get out of each weapon. but even that is hard to do bc you have to really think about how to optimize your build in the best possible way.

Lizard greatsword is one of the coolest new weapons, I love the tongue shot. It's not amazing. But fun and cool.

Forgot how much i loved the souls games my biggest problem is time i only have a couple hours a night to play. I wish i would’ve started playing on pc but im at lv200 on the ps5. Been looking for other builds to try im a strength, faith, dexterity build now using the blasphemous blade. I want to try something faster. I wish you could transfer save files from consoles to pc.

B tier for Blacksteel Twinblade are you kidding me? How? It does more bleed than the bloodfiends arm. A little tighter on the research before posting these perhaps. Twinblade does over 400 bleed in a single running attack, which is easier to get off than a charged heavy from bloodfiend

For some reason when I boot up the game on my new super PC - It starts off in beautiful ultra wide with slight black fading towards the edges. Then after 2 minutes it has a slight lag and then just full square screen with solid black bars on the side. I can't help to be very sad that the apparently very supported UW aspect ratio is not supported and they just jam these black bars in.

What about the bottles? They are not broken anymore but the lightning bottle still does a ton of damage

They really should put arcane scaling on Rakshasa and maybe give us an INT katana that does cold dmg. and spits cold waves like Moon GS so you can go full cold samurai caster. Rakshasa good for poking heavy attack actually but feels like something is missing.

putting the fireknights greatsword not in s+ is crazy this thing single handedly destroys bosses in 4 aows and is so overpowered in pvp i get the rating for the backhand blades bc they suck at pve but are the strongest in pvp right now but i dont get the rating for milady or the falx why are the falx so high up? bloody infused bandits curved sword are still by far the strongest in pve and pve in any situation and milady should be higher even though it sucks at pve, it is really strong in pvp very similar to the backhand blades
