Leader of Opposition(LoP) is not a constitutional Post. It is rather a Statutory Post under "The salary and allowance of Leader of opposition act, 1977" passed by the Parliament. The office of LoP is not even mentioned in the Constitution.

Bhai padhai kar ke aaja pehle. It is a constitutional post. It is equivalent to a cabinet minister in heirarchy and one can enjoy all privileges of it. It also has got lot of powers in parliament like interrupting it any time etc. And he will also be a member of various committes

@@satyammishra6668 The power to interpret the constitution rests with the judiciary only. And since I'm not the part of one, I will prefer to see the things as they are. So I will better rely on explicit mentions regarding such factual informations related to constitutionality of a post. You are entitled to have your view of what should be or shouldn't be in constitution but I definitely subscribe to your view of importance of the LoP post. As far as the analogy with 42nd amendment is concerned, the terms like Secular, Socialist, integrity are constitutional values and display subjectivity unlike factual things like constitutionality of a post. Further, we should refrain from claiming what's in basic structure until the judiciary clarifies.
