I was really into wanting to buy a PC to play DCS on it. I was inspired by ur videos and I couldn't wait till I owned my own PC. I started watching hundreds of hours learning about PC's and what stuff I have to have in it to run DCS and support VR. I recently began my quest on finding my favourite specs and checking them all out to make sure that they were best suited for DCS and supporting VR and when I finally got to the checkout I looked at the total cost and almost had a heart attack. it was $2,745. I'm so upset, I will never be able to play DCS, I sadly just don't have the money for any of that stuff because I'm only 15 and yes I have a job but I get $13.72 (my shifts run for 4-5 hours each shift and I only work once a week) an hour so it'll take me 180 ish hours to get the money to afford this stuff. that'll take me 36 weeks which is the same as 252 days which is the same as 0.69 years (nice). so I guess there's no DCS world for me :/ These are the specs that I was thinking of getting (also note that I'm new to PC I come from ps4 so I have nowhere near the amount of knowledge as most) and yes this is meant to be my budget build and I was aiming for something at least close to $1,500-$1,700 PC CPU AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Processor @t $349 GPU MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8GB @t $760 RAM Team T-Force Vulcan Z 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR4 3200MHz @t $229 SSD Crucial MX500 500GB SATA @t $109 Motherboard MSI Gaming AMD Ryzen X370 @t $658 VR Headset Samsung HMD Odyssey+ @t $279 Hotas Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas @t $91 $2,475 Also, note that I'm from Australia so the currency is different. Also, lower your expectations and you should be fine. Although VR is cool, you can do without it. Trackhat/delanclip with a 1080p or 1440p monitor will do just fine. And change the RTX2070 for a AMD 5700XT. There, saved some bucks already. Good luck!

I agree with SIR-71. VR isnt really needed and you can cut down a lot of the price without it. Also, you need a hard drive. What case are you getting?

Yo dont give up. I remember watching hellreign since 2014. Finally got a CPU good enough to play DCS (honestly only $900) in October 2019, five years of sidelining, and I'm finally off the bench. Dont give up g. It just might take a whole minute to get in. FYI my CPU is an Hp, but I dont do VR (migraine heaven). All together (PC, Trackir5, CH Pro Stick, Warthog throttles, Saitek AV8R side stick, Logitech pedals, 5 modules (Mig 21, AJS Viggen, M2kC, Bf109, Spitfire)) I spent about $1600. Still more to go doe (F14, Persian Gulf, some other shit.... lol) Dont give up though g. Trust me when I say that DCS will be around for a loooong time (zero competition in the modern combat flight sim arena) PC specs (for those who give a damn): HP Pavillion Gaming Desktop 690-00xx CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580, 4gb (Looking into RX580 8gb version) SSD: (x1) 128gb Samsung (for Cp operation/boot up) HDD: 1tb 7200.14 Seagate Barracuda (where DCS is located. Looking to upgrade to 1tb SSD SATA port stlye) RAM: (x2) Micron 8gb DDR4 (total 16gb ram) (Looking into Corsair (x2) 16gb (total 32gb ram) DDR4 Game plays wonderful in singleplayer, online is a little more challenging. Depends on amount of people in game. Dont give up

It would be fun to attack one of these public servers with a sensible battle plan. F18s dropping hoards of jsow-s on enemy runways and taxiways. Then coming in with su-25 and mrk82s and blowing up hangers ‘TIL the other side had nothing.

Aren't the Reapers using the AN/ALQ-131184 ECM pods that can be carried on the F-16 centerline? I have read in forums that they are effective?

Sadly, the F-16C Viper in DCS world is still very very very incomplete, so, it doesn't have any fancy weapons yet, nor does it have ECM pods

I'm confused as to how Cap got splashed on the last one when the hostile was high enough to be conning, the missile the hostile fired had to bull its way through thicker and thicker air, and Cap was so close to the ground clutter return he was trimming trees for the townsfolk? I'm a non-player trying to better understand what the hell I'm watching and how DCS models things.

Off topic.....I'm doing the training modules. Is there any way I can train in a non-Russian aircraft? Kind of hard to reference things when the plane's cockpit is written in foreign scripts.

@@IAmTheOnlyFish The narrator does speak in English, he just references stuff in for a plane with a Russian text cockpit. It seems the only plane I can train in is the SU-25 and a prop. It's probably been so long most seasoned players don't remember. I'm just to the point of mashing buttons in pause to figure them out during F-15 flights.

Cap Apparently when i join multiplayer the load time is 5x the single player loading time. Looking at that i realize i might lag a lot while playing so i quit the server anyway to prevent ruining someone's server. Do you need 16GB RAM to play MP smoothly? Here are my specs: Core: Intel i5 3330 @ 3.0GHz RAM: 8GB GPU: nVidia GeForce GT 730 VRAM: 2GB OS: Windows 7 I'm only using keyboard and mouse for controls.No thrustmaster or anything else.

@@AsphaltCowboyUSA Yes, you can. I did the first 2 missions of the F18C campaign including carrier landings with KB+Mouse. It's definitely not as smooth or fun feeling, but it's still fun and doable. Protip - DON'T get the F16 if you're doing KB+M. That's where I drew the line. F18 is doable.

What I have noticed over 3 months of watching the Grim reapers. Anything that CAP is involved in is EXTREMELY PAINFUL... I think new leadership is needed.... Cap cannot bring a bunch of monks to a grape crushing event without TWO left feet. 'WATCH THIS'
