Same politically motivated IT raids were been conducted by BJP in Tamil nadu awhile back and currently in Andhra Pradesh to control Local Parties, this is a very sad state of the country.

I m not a supporter of any party or organisation but as a Chartered Accountant just want to make a point...As a person whose premises has been raided, u have claimed all the points one by one n pleaded as a victimt....well i can counter each n every claim by u against the department...but counld nt resist countering the point u raised in ur elaborated speech...."How can department ask transaction about ur investment in 2015 if the raid was in connection to 2014...well "Section 158BD of the Income-tax Act, 1961 - Block assessment in search cases - Undisclosed income of any other person " the official can demand any information related to the business interest of the person being raid... Any raid by the department is done if it has reasons to beleive that u have something to hide...u can ask for the reasons in writing from the department.... If u want counter of all the points raised by u i can give one by one... So stop pleading and gaining sympathy n instead take appropriate steps so that u r nt prosecuted...

It's high time we need to make the income tax department accountable. There are our servants not boss.

There must be a lawsuit against the IT and the Govt of India for these deliberate mischiefs......sue a defamation case which these private digital labours cant pay in their entire lives.....

Since it was your first time... Let me tell you it sounded like a regular search - survey and I have seen many... Had you not cooperated it would have converted into search & seizure. And even after your tax returns are "accepted"... The tax department has a right to reopen your case till 16 years (since you have foreign holdings). Also, the questions can easily be understood as harassment but that's how they roll. And the use of private contractors is permitted by IT Act. You on the other hand can use your right to go to the court. Furthermore, Pranoy Roy is a true hero when such things occur... He faces these things... And goes till Supreme Court to prove himself right. And to everybody's surprise he is not bitter.... No news show or clip by him has signs of bitterness... He is the only ideal newsman in the country who remains unbiased and and like Shri Ram ji.... Handles everything with a balance mindset. Like Shri Ram was the perfect king... Pranoy Roy is the perfect citizen India has. You should learn from him or talk with him about this. And please on take the issue of private contractors... Even though it is allowed by law I share the same doubts you have with them. All the best for the legal steps you r taking... India is a country with strong constitution where you can fight the government if you are aggrieved. But I cannot say anything about personal vendetta ... You faced it so you can guess. But give it some time... You should have waited for a 15-20 days so that your emotions were more stable to make this video. All the best... Even though some of your works look biased.... But still you are way better than most of the media. And keep us posted about what happens next. :)

I am amazed by the anger and attitude of this gentleman. Tax investigates and raids are regularly carried out by the Income Tax Department. So what's the big Hungama over it or is media or opposition above the law that they can't be investigated. If you are tax compliant then you should be least worried about these raids. And LTCG of more than 100 crores!!?? Since when "honest" journalists started earning this much ??
