I wonder if you have a final idea about your vertical supports? I have a couple ideas that might help if you are at all interested? Could increase visibility of trains in the some areas of your layout? Especially in the helix type areas. It may even help easily eliminate some vert supports in long straght sections!

What is the height between the roadbed? As a long time model railroader 3 inches between roadbed unless you are pulling double stakes they need 4 inches.

Ken are you going to paint graffiti on your railcars? This layout is a lot bigger than your first one. Do you remember the tv show "The Adams Family" where Gomez Adams had electric trians and he would blow them up. So do you have any fireworks planned? Just kidding.

Ken, fantastic job! Your loop reminded me of the famous Tehachapi Loop built in the 1870's. Did this inspire your design? Check this out: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tehachapi_Loop
