Good video, but you didn't effectively explain or demonstrate how the sand wheels compress the outer sgment to become like a tank tread to spread the load and increase flotation. Also a great feature to act as a shock absorber.

I've had my "C tug" with sandtrakz wheels for a couple of seasons now, and I agree with you 100% worth every penny, I have found though, balancing the Kayak on the trolley so that the bow has no weight, makes it even easier to pull. I also rub the axles with candle wax, help's to lubricate them, as I'm sure the sand will grind the plastic axles away in time.

I like your idea of the candle wax think I'm gonna start doing that because I can see your point about it grinding the plastic away eventually. Even though I wash my gear I normally see rust forming as well but so far non of the metal parts are showing any signs of rust.

tyres on my free trolley burst within a few meters of hitting shingle on the beach during my first outing. I definitely remembered seeing this vid in recommended during the hour and a half I was ploughing a track back to my car. even carrying a spare tyre doesn't seem worth the risk with the poor reliability of these pneumatic tyres.

Thank you, only decent review showing how the cart handles in loose sand. Will be getting one for my hobie outback. Used to have to go fishing with a mate every time because its almost impossible to haul the kayak and kit (about 60kg) over loose sand alone, used to do it with the weels you were showing first, digging trenches all the way.

I have the ctug but not with sandtrakz wheels. I'm really debating on buying the wheels which would be another $90. On top of the $140 I already paid. Which is crazy!! It looks like even with the sandtrakz wheels you are struggling to pull this. I dont know if it's worth spending the money but I'm also dragging my PDL like 50ft across the sand in low tide and scratching the bottom up.

Had mine a over a year, only problem is the rubber extension to the support it kept coming off. I 3D printed a “ABS” part which solved the problem.

Without knowing the weight of the kayak, comments like "literally glides" have little meaning (7:35 of the videos clearly shows the kayak is not gliding across the sand). Imagine a heavier kayak like a Pro Angler.
