Such a great area(s) to see continuous trains with a wide variety of motive power, been to all the areas of Dolton in a one week period and photographed enough to fill 2 CD's.Dolton is one of my favorite areas. Your video is very well photographed with clear and sharp picture(s). Thanks for sharing, great job.

Great video. What a parade of power and rolling stock.Liked the HARBOR Goat! A really good job of moving all these trains through this Junction. Thank you for sharing. Good photography.

Sol: I've seen cow-and-calf lashups, a cabless unit called a slug, but this is my first goat. What's the difference? Does the goat have anything more than traction drives? What sort of control circuitry does it have? Or are all controls in the "mother" unit? Sorry for the mess of questions. Thanks in advance.

My wife managed a funeral home in that area. We're both licensed. I did calls for that firm. Sometimes, funeral procession s were held up because of the trains. I still enjoy train watching.

@14:41 is that like an auxiliary traction motor car, sans cab/diesel? Does it get power from the other diesels? Or is it something totally different? If anyone has some information/model numbers, im super curious and would much appreciate it!

EMDSD14R Thank you. I've never seen those types of rolling stock, so 'tank' car is all I could come up with.
@EMDSD14R10 жыл бұрын
David Barnett Oh anytime always glad to help. I understand and indeed I understand why you asked if it was. I have those cars in my collection and I live not to far from a Steel Mill. The cars in this video are 200 ton cars. I am pretty sure they are 200 tons. They are used to carry the molten steel to the Riverdale Basic Oxygen furnace plant. They are called Treadwell Riverdale cars. I have a tape with these cars before they got the red painted ends in Conrail days. :-)
