This DMU took approximately 2mins 30sec to travel the oval which is 90m in length, average speed? ( O Gauge)

2min30s = 150s -> real speed = 90m/150s =0.6metres/s. Usually O-scale models are in 1:48 scale (according to wikipedia), thus our scale speed is (0.6metres/s)×48= 28.8metres/s, which is about 64mph.
