You've had sunshine, now it's time for snow!
We're sitting aboard the S6 from Schwanden to Rapperswil with stops at all stations. In the first few minutes, the sun is pushing through the clouds and giving us a little warmth on the cold day. This video is uncut from beginning to the end, to give you an idea of actual stopping times, waiting for other trains and the real travel time.

As I watch your video I look out my window here in Kansas City Kansas, and the sun is shining with temps in the 40s. Tomorrow we are to get cold temps with rain and snow again for the third time again accumulating between 1 to 3 inches more in other spots. The seeing snow where your yet seems to be more normal in aspects and I would be expecting it. Here we get whatever the Lord seems fit to throw at us. It is winter so its to be expected. I can't seem to get enough your beautiful videos of my favorite country and dream to seeing one day myself. But that's not ever going to happen. I find myself rewatching all your videos weekly and enjoy every single one. This one I will be watching over and over as well. I must say your job is awesome and I can see why you love it. The beauty of the countryside is awesome. And with the fallen snow it only makes it more beautiful to see and enjoy. Thank you for sharing your trips with us. Safe travels ahead for you. God bless you till your next video and forever.

When you say temps in the 40's, it is very confusing to everyone else in the world except Americans. Every one else uses the Celsius scale , except USA, they are different in using the Farenheit. 40 degrees to the rest of the world is very hot.

How beautiful and different is the Linth Plain in 2019 than it was before 1811 when Conrad Escher used his magic engineering touch to transform the landscape. Wonderful journey with the snow, something we see very little of in Dallas, TX.

Wonderfully atmospheric, particularly with the clouds hanging over the mountains and the frozen river. Very interesting to see these routes at different times of the year and see how different they look.

Wow! So much snow and the prediction is for more snow. Its a wonder that with all the snow Europe is getting the train is managing to commute. Thumbs up for keeping the train in motion despite the heavy snow. 👍👍

With 10'000 trains moving a day in Switzerland, and 3'000 a day serving Zurich's Main Station there are usually at least a half dozen trains running on main lines every hour. This means the trains themselves clear the lines free of snow. There's very seldom the need for special snow clearing equipment. The points (railroad switches) are electrically heated so that they do not get clogged up with snow and ice.

Great to see all that snow. Off to Wengen in 2 weeks time for a weeks skiing! Travelling by train from Geneva Airport to the resort

could you possibly show, perhaps in a separate video, the different types of E.M.U. and locomotives you operate? freight and passenger types, I quite like the look of the three coach sets with combined single end electric locomotive. It would give everyone a perspective on the equipment used on what seems to be Europe's best running and best equipped 'trainset' ! ( It certainly beats anything we have here in the U.K.) many thanks for an excellent series of cab rides, looking forward to a deep winter heavy snow freight run ( wish list)

I like this one but actually prefer the similiar summer trip. Though we have a good jump into March, "It's been a long ,cold, lonely winter" to quote George Harrison. In the northeast of the U.S., winter has quite worn out its' welcome.

Tolle Mitfahrt, vielen Dank, Daumen hoch, Abo ist schon aktiviert. Grüße aus Übach-Palenberg, NRW; Deutschland. Frage: Fährst du auch durch Graubünden? Ich fahre dieses Jahr mit einem Eisenbahnfreund dorthin, um dort unter anderem mit der RHB eine Woche umher zu fahren.

At Näfels-Mollis there's a branch to the right just after the station (20:07) that looks abandoned. Where did that go?

That was the original route to Weesen. There are no rails left anymore, as you see in the video the tracks now lead to Ziegelbrücke.

have question: what do letters A, B, C... on passenger platforms mean?

They are sectors to help the passengers navigate. For example 1st class is in sector A, second class in B and C. With a first class ticket, you wait in sector A.

It shows that a small stop (in contrast to a proper train station with signals and switches) follows in stopping distance. The H stands for "Haltestelle" in German.
