Hey guys ! Thanks for tuning in.
Here we have a NOS 47 in a cast iron case. operating at 35psi woth a 1/4" nozzle. This thing throws water !
Most likely used on golf courses around the greens and tees , you would see them operate at 60 to 80 psi !
I'm feeding it with a 1 inch main line and a 1200 gph booster pump.

Really great to see the season start for you, and what a great offering! The 47 is an incredible sprinkler, and your photography captures it beautifully. I’m impressed that you’re getting that performance with a dynamic pressure of 35psi. The range of operation of these things, along with the extensibility through swapping internals, as you pointed out, is a testament to Rain Bird’s engineering. Loved the tour of the internal. You described and showed all the points perfectly, especially what a bear these are to adjust if you don’t know how it’s supposed to be done. Super great job!

@antiquesprinklers thank you Bill ! This was a little rushed but I had to get something started this year! I was also impressed with the performance. The riser kept falling with the weight of the lid and head tho , it was on the edge of not working. I'm looking at a bigger pump for my golf rotors. I have access to a 1000gal IBC tote for water storage to pull from. Obviously won't run a big golf rotor for long but it will make running them possible !!

@@MikeMac89⁠that will open up a huge number of sprinklers, even if you’re running them for ten to fifteen minutes, tops. I’ve thought about doing something like that for a few years. I have a corner of the yard it could sit in. By the way, your lawn looks amazing.

@antiquesprinklers yes , I have about 10 rotors I can't run haha. They sure look pretty on the shelf though ! I was thinking of putting mine underground for space savings. Ahh the mind wanders doesn't it ! Thank you , most of my free time in the summer goes towards the lawn. It's a labour of love.

Gee, it looks like it's built to put out water like a shrunken down RB 65D or maybe even an 85. I wonder if it's the evolution of the RB 45 from the 40's/50's. Thanks for the great videography! Love the slo-mo.

Hey thanks for the comment ! You're right ! These compact rotors were built small to fit in the case but came with huge nozzles !! They made a slightly bigger one that would be comparable to the 65 , then they made the 91DR which was massive to go with the 70E and bigger. This guy would be in-between the 35 and the 65.
