I think the AI still sees it as a threat even if its dead. A complex AI program paired with a variety of expressions and gestures really make an illusion that there is an organic brain at work in the scavenger's head. Its so cool

⁠@@NerdAlert42cool, I’ll make a list: Clip one, the Scav is pointing at the Slugcat and the Vulture corpse, the he programming sees both as a threat, so the threat display (pointing and fear) is switching between both of them That, or the Scav is “telling” the slugcat to look at the threat Clip 2, the Dropwig is trying to walk away with a vulture grub in its grasp, however, the grub seems to have gotten stuck, so the dropwig also gets stuck trying to pull the grub along Clip three, the collision of the blue fruit with the (not shown) walls keeps the line from moving out of the way of the slugcat, but due to that same collision, the Slugcat can’t walk through them, meaning the slugcat glides on them instead Clip four: the aquapede (small noodle) is electrocuting the Leviathan (big noodle). Leviathans have 1000 HP so they’re near impossible to kill in a reasonable time. However, electricity in Rain World does 20 damage if the target is at least partially submerged (it’s also an AoE thing which is why the whole screen lights up). So the Aquapede’s rapid and repeated electricity strikes can take a Leviathan down. Clip five, Scavs can throw warning shots. Also, the cherry bomb was the only thing the Scav had Clip six, the Vulture is trying to fly away with a Scavenger in its beak, but the body of the Scav (which has a separate collision) is under a rock, so the Vulture’s neck and the (dead) Scav’s neck both stretch to accommodate the fact that neither are moving Clip seven, again, scavs are throwing several warning shots, an intentional spear miss, along with (many) rock throws. Eventually, the Scav that stays probably stops seeing the slugcat as a threat, either that, or they couldn’t find the rocks they’ve been throwing and go get them to resume the warning shots. Clip Eight, the Lizard exits the pipe and has partially climbed onto the pole, the rest of the body can’t decide whether or not to go all in on the climbing or not, resulting in the…dance…you see Clip nine, Noodlefly mothers will duel on sight…that’s all there is to say Clip ten, the Scav throws an explosive spear to kill the blue lizard, but the explosion of the spear triggers the explosions of the other spears on its back, launching it higher Clip eleven, white lizards are ambush predators…even if this guy’s ‘camouflage’ was shit, he was determined to sit and wait for food. Clip twelve, I think the spear pinned the lizard to the floor, so when it tries to move, it stays in place and just kinda wiggles a bit Clip thirteen, the slugcat will reach for poles automatically, and you can wiggle back and forth on poles without falling off…and then the force of the rain knocks the slugcat down Clip fourteen, the slugcat can grab corpses and drag them around, which becomes easier to do while jumping Clip fifteen, dev tools are on in this clip, meaning that the Leviathan is probably getting dragged around using the “move creatures here” button Clip sixteen, the slugcat is trying to climb up the sphere (to the right) and also stay in place, making it kinda jerk around like that Clip seventeen, more warning shots from scavs…and then the Scav runs into the jellyfish, stunning itself Clip eighteen, the slugcat is receiving both the “left” and “up” inputs, keeping it stuck in the gap and trying to move up, causing the lower half to move up instead Clip nineteen, the slugcat got lucky and instead of jumping into the death pit trigger, landed on the solid object (the connecting part of an assumed third crossing thing) Clip twenty, same thing as last clip, except the slugcat dislodged itself and fell into the death pit trigger

I am nowhere near as advanced as some other people, but having probably somewhere close to 400 hours and being a constant wiki diver, I know quite a bit about how things act in this game The pole reaching thing was something I learned recently as well, I saw it in-game and noted it down in my brain as kinda cool
