For me. it is almost 40 years. LOL. Graham Bonnet singing this great song with that beautiful girl dancing off to the side was my favorite MTV video watching as a young teen in 1979, early 1980s. It still is today 39 years later.
@smmx655 жыл бұрын
Why do lyrics have to rhyme?
@nycinstyle5 жыл бұрын
Most songs contain verses with lyrics that purposefully rhyme certainly at various times. Not necessary though, always. That is for sure. A well written song is a well written song and it comes across to listeners as just that. This great song and Paul Simon's "America" come to mind. The lyrics ending every line dont rhyme with the previous line, etc., nor do lyrics rhyme too often in any other rhyming pattern. Most all songs do. It is rather unusual.

@johnford25089 ай бұрын
I heard Blackmore say, a couple of years ago, that in his view it's not how many notes you can play a second, it's the feel of it. A great riff and something with a bit of soul is infinitely better than clinical, over-worked, shredding. I could identify guitarists back then on my first hearing of a release. Doubt that's the case these days.

Another brilliant band of the 70's and 80's who the shite of today are not fit to lace the boots of. Best lyrics ever btw!

I think Glover and Blackmore wrote the lyrics with humor in mind. Kind of like coming from teenage guys wanting to be rock stars; being pursued by girls who are big fans. Tongue in cheek. This song got that hot girl who is every guy's fantasy. Her brain don't matter, if you get my drift. lol Yeah, ultimate rock lyrics.

I remember seeing this video on Top Of The Pops in 1980, and it didn't occur to me that Graham's hair was too short, I just thought he had one hell of a voice. At Donington 1980 he looked like the 80's while the band looked like the 70's. One of Ritchie's better riffs, reminiscent of Man On The Silver Mountain.
@kencummings9534 жыл бұрын
Cozy was a big reason why he was in Rainbow. And why he would rejoin him in MSG. When Cozy left MSG Graham's days were numbered. He was famously fired by Schenker on the eve of headlining the 1981 or 82 Reading Festival because Michael thought he was too hungover to perform. I'm a big Michael Schenker fan, but imagine that.

@@fubarmodelyard1392 Thank you! I'm a very nice person but I sometimes have an alter ego when I go out with my girlfriends and get up to mischief! My little girl says "mummy, why do you dress up and look pretty when it makes you sick in the morning?!"

Graham Bonnet wore shades to hide the broken blood vessels in his eyes form his insane singing style! Awesome MTV classic when MTV only played music! I read somewhere that Graham's short haired, leisure suit style drove Blackmore crazy cuz he wanted him to have the hairy rocker look.
