Mackenzie was actually incorrectly tracking loyalty counters on his planeswalkers this game. Whenever a planeswalker enters the Battlefield that also triggers Lae'zel and they enter with an additional loyalty counter. His deck is actually much more potent than how it was being played here as a result.

Maximus' deck was wild. I've seen a few Dash decks, none of them were like that at all. Every time he played a card, I was honestly surprised. Gates, five color good stuff, combat draw, graveyard recursion... I mean. Damn. That's a deck I want to play or play against.

Micah couldn't suspend the Sol Talisman from being exiled by Thief of Sanity - Suspend says it can ONLY be done from hand.

@ 12:58 Rousing Refrain's clause that makes it exile itself with time counters on it means that its original owner will be the one who will get to cast it eventually, as cards in exile don't have controllers, only owners, and it should be of no consequence that Micah cast the card originally though Thief of Sanity.

@ 14:42 - Couldn't Maximus have won by choosing "deal 2 damage" 5 times from Unite the Coalition, using 3 triggers to kill Micah, 1 on Mackenzie, and 1 on Ryan Sinclair - before swinging on a tapped out Mackenzie for lethal?

@@Suzuki246Fair, although with all five triggers on Micah he could have forced Micah out at the least and had a better chance against Mackenzie (or possibly have additional triggers from Micah take out Mackenzie on his way out)

He was tapped out so changing targets still costs 2 life. Edit: didn't look back far enough, he wasn't tapped out...

Korvold says card type.. food token is not a card

Token are not cards, this is correct, but what Korvold is checking is for card types among permanents you've sacrificed. My understanding is that because a food token is an Artifact Token, Korvold counts it as an Artifact permanent being sacrificed.

@tomahawkgamesbr6045 my gf really dug-in because of lotr, and i think dr who fits bc mtg lore is not above time travel. there's probably some plane which is adjacent to 40k lore, but overall im just here for the new synergies/power each set brings. red just got that 5 mana Dino which exiles top 2 and gives even more value for playing those 2, and red neeeds more impulse effects

I don't think he cares what you have to say. And who cares if he lets someone play a cmdr that's not from the mtg universe, you just have to accept that universes beyond is not going away any time soon.
