The thing with Rainbow High is that I think it's obvious that the money of it is now going to the Bratz's reboot. So, meanwhile they're obviously making it about competing with Monster High this is literally moving RH to a younger audience cuz Bratz is going to be the line for older kids.

I assume MGA cutting corners on dolls (like removing the second outfits), not doing well with collector dolls (except Lily) and shadow high being their latest sign of decline made them believe that the adult market is no longer enough, despite us adults still wanting RH and SH, but with the quality of Shadow high Series one and the other rainbow vision stuff. Instead of upping the quality to justify their higher prices, they choose to shift the costumer they want to attract. Kids who love fashion dolls always were the priority, but its obvious that they hope to make ore money from younger kids, than from adults. Its understandable, but also sad as they choose this route over quality

It feels like adult fans gave critiques so the dolls could be better, and then MGA decided instead of making them better, they'd just sell them to kids instead The Rainbow High fandom was a doll space for adults. They only needed a little more hit content and there would have been a boom. Instead, they sunk it. At least at the end of this they can just say rainbow world wasn't necessary anymore. I think there's a received wisdom that girls don't like the colour orange, that's why there's hardly any dolls with orange in their outfits in monster high g1, and why Howleen got a single orange-haired doll before they changed her to pink. Pink is just the safer bet in terms of sales, unfortunately.

Such depressing news :( It seems to me like RH is starting to wind down and will probably not be making dolls soon if this reboot doesn't go well. I can't see anyone really wanting these dolls. I only found out about them along with SH, when SH first came out and had quite a few dolls I still wanted to get. I was happy to find a brand who made beautiful quality dolls, and really wanted more dolls like Lily Chang. I also liked the Costume Ball line; well most of them. It's disappointing to see MGA deleting some of their best types of dolls in favor of something like this. Well I hope to see some good things come out next year also, or it will be end of RH/SH for me :(

I am so intensely disappointed with the direction that Rainbow High is taking, especially as someone who is mainly emotionally attached to Shadow High specifically. I will personally not be supporting the RH Rebrand and will probably be focusing on focusing on filling in the gaps in my original RH collection and getting SH duplicates. I also hate the addition of the Poopsie Creatures and the random introduction of them into the show with no lore-based explanation. This RH Rebrand is just too depressing for me to deal with, so I just don't want to deal with it. It's extra disappointing as a Shadow High collector and fan because I know that MGA probably won't make as many dolls like SH like they did before.🖤💜

I just need to know who at MGA has such an emotional attachment to the see through-slime-shitting-animals…is it a fetish? Is it semantics? Like what’s going on, because it’s not for us. Nobody asked for this. (And side note, I think it’s such an ugly trend for EVERY impactful doll franchise to reboot the second things go slightly awry…RH isn’t even an old brand like you said. Barely 4 years old and already rebooting it, that’s so selfish to me. :/)

Ah yes, like monster high g2 the fashions sucked, but the base dolls didn’t. The characters were great! But the storylines/plot for the movies and shows were terrible. Rainbow high is definitely following Mattel’s direction because what is this 😭 hoping the “g3” of rainbow high is better or just revert back to the g1 style.

Genuine question but do kids even like slime anymore? I got very small cousins who are growing up with doll KZfaqrs who show them what actual quality dolls are so they don’t like the budget or unarticulated dolls , mind you this girls are 6 and 8 which is the age demographic of rainbow high and if they keep dropping quality they’ll eventually die , kids aren’t stupid they’ll see the lack of quality in the dolls and see their cheap slime premise and will only grow tired of it

I personally never liked it to begin with it’s too messy and sticky. So combining that with a fashion doll? It just sounds crazy and stupid and bound to fall flat on their face
