I agree!!! I have Carmen and Vanessa, I’ll wait for lyric to go on clearance to get her. I think they should had put the instruments with maybe a stage set so they can look like there having a concert

I think so too, because I found them on Amazon Spain with 33€. If a doll is 50$ in US that means at least 55€ for us here, maybe even 60€. For Kia was the same, cheaper than in US on Amazon Sp.

I've heard the Slumber Party dolls at least are priced higher because of the stupidity it's costing to get the dolls shipped stateside and out of the shipping containers currently.

Yes in Europe everything it's more expensive but I found these dolls for 33euros on Amazon. I would never pay 50€ or more for this series.

I completely understand, these dolls are pricey and it makes no sense cause the winter break dolls come with 2 skis or a skateboard and their first and second outfits but they are $36.99 so why make the dolls $49.99 ? I wouldn’t blame it all on MGA though ( not saying you are ) companies don’t always have as much power as we believe when it comes to retailers . Usually companies will give retailers a recommended price point for the amount of product an item comes with , but no matter how big of a company you are you really can’t obligated retailers to price the dolls at the price you recommend. Yes , companies like Mattel and MGA have money but I doubt they would wanna open there own stores , if they do it’ll usually be ONE store and it’s usually in California or New York and unfortunately not all of us live in or close to any of those states plus It’ll add more costs to the companies. Retailers are the biggest things for Companies like MGA snd Mattel because they are the ones who put the toys on the shelves and make them money so it’s 100% possible that they did recommend a lower price , but retailers didn’t listen . The rockstar dolls and slumber dolls aren’t the first dolls to be a bit overpriced , Kia heart is a good example the only reason she’s at $40 is because she’s special edition and she has like 2-5 more pieces than the normal dolls . Now Kia seems less expensive but at the time it was a huge jump of price point from $27 to $40 not to mention it was probably bad news for international fans , and it probably upset international fans when they heard these dolls were gonna be $50 here , meaning it would be 2 times more expensive. But , price point usually isn’t any toy companies fault it’s more of the retailers fault

What I can see is that most outfits are a little bit more detailed as well as the hairstyles and that might have increased the prices, like Carmen's skirt and Lyrics' Jacket / pants or Vanessa's gorgeous hair.

Not necessarily I’m not saying the dolls aren’t pricey , they definitely are but MGA or Rainbow high aren’t actually pricing the dolls they do in fact give retailers a recommendation for a price point , but after that it’s completely up to retailers if they wanna follow it or not so it’s 100% possible MGA might’ve asked for a price point of $39.99 but retailers upped it to $49.99

Right I really want them but the price is ridiculous and then people selling them on eBay for 60-90 dollars is just crazy

my other theory (that i think is acting in combination with the first) has to do with the fact that I am pretty sure Target and Walmart are the ones who set the final price point for the exclusives. I bet that they set them really high so that when they run their sales and say oh look the dolls are "only" 30-40 bucks, people feel like they are saving money, and dont realize that 40 is still a little bit pricey for a doll (remember when we were shocked at kia hart's price point?). kind of like how justice always runs 40% off sales, so the majority of people are getting the 40% off price (which is the "real market value"), but they think they are getting a steal. and as a bonus, they get the extra profit from the few that aren't waiting for a sale (well-off present buyers and collectors who are willing to pay more just bc they want it so bad).

Luckily, it appears they will only be $60. They aren’t here yet, but I have seen them listed. Same with the slumber party line: only $55. I say “only” relative to the fact that Canadian prices can be up to 1.5 times the US price.

That's the situation in Sweden. About 60 USD (tax included) per RH doll in store. The price maybe drops twice a year to like 40-45 each.

You might want to rethink regularly buying doubles. Yes, dolls have gone up in value lately, but so has real estate and other investments. I’m glad I wasn’t collecting in my 20s and 30s and saved money to buy a house. I don’t know how old you are or your financial situation, but I see young people very fixated on dolls and not thinking about their larger financial picture. I’m just offering this as a counterpoint to the very consumeristic hype on KZfaq and Instagram. Even I get drawn in, and I know better. None of these are actually a “need”.

I wanted to replace the electric guitar with an acoustic one (I just prefer country music) & found both acoustic & electric guitars on Amazon for about $20 with cases if you're still looking.
