Graham Bonnet had a great voice, but now, every time I see him in a video I think of what Blackmore said about him keeping his hair so short. He said, "We didn't need someone who looked like a Vegas nightclub lounge singer." Ha,

I heard this and wondered if he should have said he could not go out there. I'd be interested to hear if it was just this opener or if he was really suffering/struggling.

I saw the thumbnail and honestly thought that someone found an old film of Mitt Romney singing 1950s songs in college. It's a shame Blackmore was such a jittery sketchy freak and an aaswipe to work with.

You know this through experience? Or regurgitating all the a$$wipe comments? There are plenty who attest to the man's genius and work ethic and a lot who wanted to tit around and got on the wrong side.
@tasteapiana
@tasteapiana 3 жыл бұрын
@@Dibbdroid Even Glover, who worked with him the longest of anyone, said he was at best a difficult person to get along with. Blackmore fired Dio and admitted it was over ridiculous reasons like Ronnie wanted to get married and other PERSONAL things. He was such a control freak that he couldn't work with people in a PROFESSIONAL capacity if he thought they were undisciplined in their PRIVATE LIVES, ie they had families or friends. He was so jealous of people who could live a simi normal life in parallel to being a professional musician that he repeatedly scuttled band after band after band and ALWAYS blamed it on other people, NEVER himself. That's the definition of a jittery sketchy freaking asswipe. Even after all of these years Ian Gillan still doesn't know why Ritchie singled him out for endless torment and taunting that was designed to belittle him both publicly and in private and Ritchie gets really weird when asked about it, really mousy and evasive when he gives super childlike explanations for the things he did to Ian. He literally does such crazy things to other people, intentionally provoking them in ways that could end his and their careers, then expects everyone to believe that the REAL problem was some nonsense about the other person's personal life. He's a kind of schizophrenic with traits that are more than bordering on narcissism. I don't need a doctor's official statement that Adolf Hitler had serious anger issues or that Charles Manson needed to be locked up, some truths are SELF EVIDENT.
@Dibbdroid
@Dibbdroid 3 жыл бұрын
@@tasteapiana I'll pick just one thing... Dio disengaged from the writing process (reference Cozy Powell) and got jealous of Ritchie being on magazine covers (quotes available), oh and Blackers was at Ronnie's wedding....... in 1978. And Gillan (the party animal who spent too much time partying and unprofessionally ruined his voice) has readily admitted his part in their differences, because no human is perfect. The definition of jittery sketchy asswipe is intellectual dwarfery, spouting sh1t about stuff when you actually don't know the truth. Narcissism, solipsism, that's all you. Ambition 》》intellect

Graham Bonnet is a great singer but with many technical limitations, he doesn't come close to Ronnie's perfect and virtuoso singing, especially in terms of vocal imposition and consistency in general; Dio is considered one of the best singers of all time by many singing experts, there is no comparison.

How did Graham Bonnett get in the band. How could Blackmore hire this guy? this guy couldn’t hold a torch to RJD. RJD sounds the same live and in studio. Bonnett is a screamer. What were you thinking Richie?
@marcuscanyon2054
@marcuscanyon2054 8 ай бұрын
Well the grapevines music media threw interviews that Richie wanted to be a little more commercial with the Rock lyrics and sound and Dio of course liked to lean in a little more fantasy theme alot in his lyrics, so they parted ways and actually Graham did a great job on there next album “ Down to Earth “ which had very good version of ..Since you been gone .. which is still being played on classic rock stations , and we all know Ronnie joined up with Sabbath and we got the classic Heaven and Hell ,one of my favorite songs.... R.I.P Ronnie... Dreamers never die
