So apparently I have to explain myself as I’m getting quite a few comments about it.. When I say “normal white sim”, I don’t mean that white is the only normal skintone.... I mean that she has a normal (realistic) skintone since she’s not blue, purple or grey.

I've noticed that issue happening to multiple sims youtubers now I've definitely seen the issue in a Clare Siobhan video and in a Vixella video, I believe they both did the random genetics challenge idk where I saw it elsewhere

If you randomize everything with them with the dice button, if you switch to mermaid form after doing everything you can random, it will make them lose the mermaid form, its a glitch with the randomizer i believe. I tested it with 5 sims and i got the same issue.

@@DoveJS you would still be randomizeing everything. Even if you do the mermaid form first i think it would still affect the form to dissapear after when you go to randomize the human form. I can try it but im not sure it would he a work around, either way, ea has to fix it.

you can use cc skin tones on mers...you put the skintone on your main sim while it's linked, unlink, then change the main's skintone back to a normie one. the mermaid's skintone will stay as the customized.

Oh Aveline what a fantabulous job you did on all of these mermaids! I definitely can't pick a favorite, they are all just stunning! I'm happy that my crown found its way into your game, you used it beautifully!! I've created a set that fits to these crowns, maybe you like some of the armfins, tails or bras too! 🤗💙

@Nekoplays yt There are plenty of videos where they explain how that works, but if youre playing on a ps4 or x-box you can't get cc at all which really sucks. I am playing on an ps4 too

I had an issue where my mermaid had a daughter and grew to be a teen and in CAS it said the daughter was a mermaid (I could change her tail and everything) but in game play she wasn't.

Yeah that happened to me too! But only after I turned my custom content back on after downloading island living - I had it off for a while. They would glitch back to humans if I used custom content. I deleted some of my custom content that was kind of buggy or had broken, plus the mermaid and fairy mods, and one of those things seemed to fix it so far.

for the skintone issue, i've found that putting them on your sim in human form , then unlinking the forms works, as the skin will stay on the mermaid form unless changed. its a weird work-around, but its easier than updating tons of shades. after unlinking you can change the human form back to whatever you had it on, easy peasy.

If I was a siren/mermaid I would shave my hair. The only thing it would do is catch on coral and knot up.
