In this video we're doing 2 songs by Rainbow. First, we listen to Stargazer, and then Light In The Dark. Rainbow has impressed us already with their amazing guitar work and singing, by Ritchie Blackmore and Ronnie James Dio. And we don't expect them to disappoint us this time. Enjoy!

Kasmir can’t touch this and all its musicality ever. Blackmore is his own influence and his ability is second to none. Absolutely genius in composition and guitar playing.

I would say Blackmore's guitar sound on Stargazer is more a mystical, Middle Eastern sound. As far as who came first, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin came out around the same time. Both Blackmore and Jimmy Page are great in their own ways. Each has their own style. Page is more blues rock and Blackmore is more classical hard rock. You can even throw medieval in the mix. Rainbows Rising album was a landmark and game changer in hard rock and metal music. Blackmore is one of the best and most influential guitarists ever. Thanks, 🙏

Esto no es música es un milagro, estas dos canciones conforman un dueto tan inmenso, descomunal, intenso, emotivo, lleno de fuerza y virtuosismo como muy pocas en la historia del rock. Saludos

Together, this is Rainbow's masterpiece. The line up of Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell, Jimmy Bain and Tony Carey was never bettered. Jimmy Bain never really got any recognition for his backing vocals but if you listen ( left ear ) he is superb! Have you heard Gates of Babylon or Lady of the lake? They are stunning! Incidentally, Jimmy Page and Ritchie Blackmore worked extensively together in the 60s as session guys so therefore shared many ideas including the Middle Eastern / Arabic vibe.

The very beginning of the song you played was Tarot Woman, where the drum solo starts is the beginning of Stargazer(on the Album Rising). Ritchie Blackmore discussed making a song as impressive as Kashmir with John Bonham, Stargazer was the result.

The seeds of this tune comes from Blackmore and his snake charmer scale from Mandrake Root in 1968 and can be heard in many live performances in the 60s and 70s ....saying Stargazer sounds like Kashmir is like saying all Middle Eastern music sounds like Kashmir .....

It's arguable, of course, but I think everybody involved in these two tracks was at their absolute peak at this time. I don't think they ever bettered these performances or recordings. For me, the best side of vinyl ever released. For a live performance by Rainbow, I think Catch the Rainbow and Sixteenth Century Greensleeves from the Munich concert in 1977 are the ones to go to.

Not exactly, yes he composed the song but was a result of Kashmir, he even said so in an interview. He wanted the song to be more impressive since Kashmir was a huge success.

Love the background keyboard work which brings a strong middle Eastern vibe ( echoed at times in the guitar solo) in Stargazer.

Stargazer was Rainbow's answer to Kashmir. I think Stargazer is one of the greatest songs recorded. You really should react to a live video of Rainbow, it really showcases their talent. The Munich 1977 concert has some great videos on KZfaq. The songs "Mistreated", "Catch the Rainbow", "Man on the Silver Mountain" and "16th Century Greensleeves" really stand out.

Folks, this is a weird edit you listened to. The first minute or so is the 1st section of “ Tarot Woman” , the opening track from “ Rainbow Rising”. Stargazer and Light in the Black are on the same album, but Stargazer doesn’t start with keyboards, it opens with a drum full

@@hanierfamily People tend to compare them with LZ and Kashmir as soon as Blackmore's solo starts. But the fact is that Kashmir only has a repetitive riff, and a very short, and also repetitive, "solo" at the end of the song together with Jonesy's Mellotron. Blackmore's solo in this song is one of the most brilliant and heart piercing solos ever, but many lose focus and miss out on it because of this compare nonsense.

It is banality to always mention LZ😫. Why you Americans got so much love about this band? It is so regular bluesy americanish music. DP or Rainbow were more interesting in terms of music, only problem is that you know less about these music.
