1) Dont take movie adaptations seriously 2) men and womens lives are pretty much dictated in aristocratic society. Having girls usually meant sending them away to be married. While having boys usually meant they stayed within the family. However being a male in history isnt as great as people think. The absurd amt of responsibility foisted on boys shoulders is ridiculous.

В России императрицы рожали в отдельных покоях. С лейб-медиком и если этого хотел муж то и в его присутствии. Но за дверью находился министр двора и ещё пара официальных лиц. They could have at least used colored contacts and at least ATTEMPTED to get some historical accuracy. The most renowned feature of Marie Antoinette were her blue grey eyes. This could have been rectified.. But at least they did not go full woke- tard..and did not remake her as a completely brown person. . sheesh..
