It's actually a mix of both, you can even hear that specific type of robo-crust sound that AI voice generations make Probably to make up for the lack of similar sounds in the Demo's voice clips

Sentence mixing is not enough. Not that AI is flawless or anything. Sentence mixing and flawless sound modifications done right is creepy. So many lines I have heard in SFM and Gmod videos makes it hard to tell what is in the game and what is costume work. Like there are very simple lines or responses one can swear being taken strait out of the game that in reality where heavily edited or sentence mixed to work. Using AI to blend in with proper sentence mixing is not something to look down at. If anything AI should be used to smood out a video like this one. Let the AI eat this masterpiece and fill in the distorted stuff. Like Heavy saying Banana is a good example what AI can do. Like hell there are decent community voice actors that also can be used. Like sentense mixing is just the fundamental tool in the making. If you only have a hammer everything looks like a nail. Big enough hammer is going to solve any problem. But... At some point a nuke is just more practical then making a bigger hammer.

Demo's just living in his own little world when he's drunk, which is quite literally all the time. The AI mixing sounds like slurred speech from the alcohol and is just a nice detail.

Joe, I know you won't care about this, but I just want you to take the time and read it. Please. I heard this song a bit ago, and when I heard it, I fell in love it with. I didn't care about finding the original song. I just wanted to sing this. We had a contest for music in my high school, and I'm no singer - but I'm Indian and have a similar face to Demoman. I went to school in the same outfit Demo had at the end - suit and smol black beanie on top, and I sang this song. I won. All this goes to you! I love your animations, but this one... This one is in my heart. For the reals.
