Rainsticks - African Drumming

Күн бұрынIn many cultures, summoning rain often included the use of musical instruments. One well-known example is a rainstick, an instrument that mimics the sound of rain. They are traditionally made from dead cactus tubes with cactus spines hammered to the inside and filled with tiny pebbles.
When the stick is upended, the pebbles fall to the other end of the tube, making a sound reminiscent of rain falling.

So good to hear one of my favourite instruments and sounds in the world. So soothing Simon. I have been gifted two over the years. One is green and 2 metres long and as wide as an outstretched hand. Incredible sound. The other is a lot smaller and made by the original people of this great land. Lots of beautiful spirit and age in that one. I cannot recommend more how beneficial having one of these can be for performance and sound healing, whether privately in the home or publicly.

Lovely to hear LMo, they certainly do contain a spirit that transcends the instrument itself.
