Yes I am subscribed because of the recovery video and wow. Congratulations on bringing it up, too many boats and ships are lost to our waterways and to see one brought up and able to be restored and used again is awesome. That said my condolences to the family of the officer who lost his life when it went down.

Just finished watching the videos on this and it was so much fun. You should be truly commended for finding this one! It’s amazing just how much sand and silt buried it in such a short time, there must be some amazing currents and weather patterns where you are. As far as the engines go, I live in Florida and have floated boats that have been sitting underwater for anywhere up to ten years and because of the fresh water and if they were buried/immobilized, it hasn’t taken much as all to get them running again. Sure they usually have to be rebuilt but typically that’s a lot less than a new engine. Now seawater is a bit different but so much can be told by the condition of the outside of the units and your look almost pristine. Personally I’m so glad you guys did the videos on this, it would be wonderful if whoever you sell it to would video the repairs just because it would be fun to see what happens from here on out. I’d love just to see a power wash of this one... Also, now that I’ve retired I do a lot of electronic restoration and I’d be curious if the radios and Lowrance plotter unit could be saved at all. (My record so far is restoration of a iPhone that had been underwater for six years) You done good! You really should be proud of yourself, this was a real adventure! Buddy

Awesome Find & Sad re the Props... I watched the Adventure w Purpose video recovery & saw those props were not eased up out of water when it was pulled out of water onto the trailer. Why Not ? Anyway, I'm glad you made a follow up video. 😊

Came over from Mr Leisek's channel. Cool boat! Looks like you pulled it out at Dalton Point. Was it sunk around Multnomah Falls? The gorge sure is a beautiful place, we're lucky to have it!

Those engines gotta still run with a little work. What a awesome find. I can't believe this sunk that person in control of it at that time must've sucked at controlling a boat. I would love to see u get those running again. Or send then to me I could get then running again lol.

Are you going to try and get the engines running? If so do a video of it.
@underdogdive39484 жыл бұрын
I have heard different thoughts about the engines. A Marine surveyor told me that there’s no use even trying. Other people have told me that if I would’ve pickeled the cylinders right when we brought it out of the water that would’ve made a big difference. We didn’t do that so I’m assuming they’re not gonna run. I have a pending sale on the boat though, so maybe the new owner can get them working.

@@underdogdive3948, I bought a submerged boat years ago and we got the engine running. It ran great for two summers and then sold it, hope it's still out there. I love the Columbia Gorge, plan on buying some land near the river west of Portland where it's green.

How much did the entire salvage operation cost you ?
@underdogdive39484 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to say exactly. It took me about 100 hours to find it and then direct cost of the pump for the dredge, air tanks etc. I guess I’m into it for about 15k or 16k Some of the expenses are in equipment that can be reused on other projects.

What your referring to as the house is called a wheel house or helm, lovely boat tho, I'm going to guess that's fresh water in wich case it should all be sound, bar the electronics and engines, I've restored boats for 20 years, get a survey and away you go

Interesting point. I’m sure there’s a Sea state that can sink almost any boat though. In this case a little bit of displacement foam and a little more reserved boyancy on the bow would’ve made a big difference. Those improvements can be easily made here.
