Why did people hate him?

i usually hate child actors but i like this kid.

I _think_ mostly they have misunderstood his character. His character would unfortunately be a target for bullies irl as Campion has 0 social skills and speaks very strangely, having been raised by robots his entire life and having had no real adult human interaction. The only humans he ever interacted with prior to Marcus were other children who were also raised by robots, who then slowly died in front of him. He's very 'different' from any average earth child in the way he thinks, speaks, and behaves, and the actor does a really good job of portraying that. So people who may naturally have a tendency to bully someone like him irl (someone very intelligent but socially awkward) seem to vehemently hate his character, but that's _because_ he's acting so flawlessly and convincingly. He speaks strangely, even manages to hold himself strangely when he moves, but that's because he's been raised by freaking robots who speak and hold themselves completely different from how humans do. Like when you see those feral kids who embody the animals they were raised by - everything about how they move is different from other humans and the sounds they make are non-human. Hence the title 'Raised by Wolves' - this is a 'feral' child in the sense he has not been raised by humans, and the 'non-humanity' of the two robots has definitely rubbed off on him over the years and influenced the way he has developed emotionally, mentally, and even physically in a sense. The actor nails the character flawlessly, making him a target for those who have that inbuilt totally irrational disdain for those who are different (because they fear what they cannot understand). A lot of 'different' kids in movies are still actually very cool, like Juno (in the movie Juno), or Scott Pilgrim, or Harry Potter, lol. Campion on the other hand is different in a much more convincing way - the sort of way bullies flock to, sigh. They're not understanding that their reaction to him is happening _because_ he is playing his character flawlessly, as opposed to any actual flaw on the part of the actor. They want to see someone cool. What they get instead is someone who is very convincingly acting as a genuinely socially awkward 'feral' child. Just my two cents :)
